My pond ran dry due to some spray from the waterfall. I re-routed the 1 inch hose and seemed to fix the problem. Pump ran ok for a few minutes and then the pump died. I can force water through with a garden hose and I can hear something going on inside the pump. But it has no output. I removed the pre-filter cover, and it looks to me like the unit can be serviced. Comments appreciated.

We have a smallish pond and I didn't think before buying this monster. It works great, was easy to install and seems to have a good build quality. But 2300 GPH is a lot of flow, and not calming at all. I'm giving it a five star review because it does what it says on the tin, but if you have a smallish pond (maybe a little bit bigger than a large Jacuzzi bathtub) with a 3 ft waterfall, maybe go for something smaller if you want any relaxation. It was also kind of loud - but I would expect that for the size.

Followed many plans for building one's pond filter device, and my only regret is that what Ii purchased is too powerful for the size of my pond. (150 gal tank) Had no choice but to revamp all and use PVC and valve to control water flow. Without that, the water came out way to strong. I'm very pleased with the pump, and though it moves too many GPH, that is better than a weak flow.

Purchased this June 2019 and it's handling large pond. I have the pump in a net and inside a plastic container with bioballs to help protect and preserve the pump. I wash out the container and net and rinse the pump weekly to keep the back intake clear from debris. The only negative I have is, we had to extend the power cord, we have a deep pond and I like the pump submerged in the deep end to keep the pond clean. Also purchased UV lamp to compliment the pump.
