If you have played "I Sea 10" (also by Learning Resources), this game is similar. Pour out all the popcorn cards and place them picture facing up. Take turns flipping over a card and the first person who can read the card keeps it. If you flip over a "POP" card, you have to give back all your collected cards.
Since we are just now beginning sight words memorization, I alter the game by letting him only guess during his turn. I encourage him to spell out the word and/or sound it out (as much as possible since they are 'sight' words). If he can't then we turn it back over. When it's my turn I do let him say my card if he does know the word, if not I go through the same process walking him through my explanation of guessing the word.
Overall, another great game to make education fun from Learning Resources.
