As a parent who was has to formula-feed, this device is quite helpful. I also use the Mixie bottles and to be honest I'm not sure which I prefer.
Here are the pros/cons to the PopYum bottles.
Pros:
-Formula is stored above the water, making it less likely to have formula leaking into water (although I've never had this issue with Mixie bottles)
-More lightweight/easier to carry than Mixie bottles
-Bottles/parts are sturdy, although they do feel as if they'd be flimsy/poorly made. However, this is not the case.
-No leaks when you combine water/formula, even if you shake the whole bottle up and down
-You have to squeeze both sides to release formula, so it seems like it would be harder to accidentally push it
Cons:
-**BIGGEST PROBLEM**: The hourglass shape of the silicon nipple/formula collection area means that this piece takes A LONG TIME to dry and that there are a million places for droplets of water to hide. As all formula-feeding parents know, even the slightest bit of moisture means that formula starts clumping/can't safely be stored for later feeds. I'm glad that I ordered the 3 pack, because you really can't expect a rapid turnaround time while using these. There are so many curves and ridges in the nipple that trying to dry it with a paper towel or equivalent may or may not really work. You're better off leaving it to dry for a few hours, or even overnight. If you were expecting to clean it and reuse it right away, you're going to have a tough time.
-This is more of a personal "con" than a general one, but the nipple is also very, very soft/pliant. This is probably ok for most kids (and may even be better for breastfed kids), but my son has a very high/narrow palate, which prevented him from breastfeeding in the first place. He will drink from this nipple, but I can tell that he struggles.
-The pieces are very bulky/large and take up a lot of space on the bottle tree.
Overall, though, this is a solid product...if you have a lot of time to wait for the nipple to dry.
**Also note, I received NOTHING for this review (no money, no products, etc.) so this is completely honest...I spent $35 of my own money on this. I expect most of the other reviews were paid with free products because they are overwhelmingly positive and don't mention glaring issues.**
