I wanted to use this on my car's driver side door pillar because my phone holster keeps scratching the plastic cover. I needed something that can have adhesive back and can protect the plastic but I needed to be able to remove it without leaving residue on the car's plastic. This foam sheet is made of material that looks great, is durable enough not to get ripped when something scratches it (no problem rubbing against it with the cell phone holster getting in and out the car) and the adhesive backing does not leave residue when removed. The reason I give it 4 stars is because the adhesive material is not strong enough and in my case putting it on curved plastic that ends up at 90 degrees bend (not a sharp 90 degree corner) the adhesive keeps coming off one side trying to keep the original form of the foam. The temperatures in the car varied from 40 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (day and night) and I do not think that this is too extreme for the adhesive.
I would definitely recommend this material for many uses and projects including for my intended usage as long as you would be covering a flat surface. In my next order from Amazon, I will try the thinner 0.065 inch sheet and I am hoping that if the material is thinner, it is not going to want to return to its original flat form as much and this way the adhesive will not have a problem of keeping it bent.
If you are considering this product, you most likely are building something or have a special need for it. My advice would be to give it a try because even if this material does not work for the thing you need it for, it is definitely a must have piece for many projects so it is not bad to have it on a shelf in your garage.

Nice substantial foam. Unfortunately, this foam does not work well in wrapping around sharp edges like thin steel sheets. The foam will want to bend back to its original flat shape, leaving the adhesive backing stuck to the project but not the foam. Should work great on flat and slightly curved surfaces.
