The carry case for the battery comes with the red/black battery cables, a DC charging cable and a microUSB cable. It has elastic bands to hold everything in place. The carry case itself is the size of a medium sized book. If you didn’t want to carry the battery and cables in it, it could easily double as a book or 7”-11” tablet case.
The battery is white and came wrapped in a clear plastic sleeve. It slides down the battery easily, I would leave this on when battery is not being used to keep it clean. It came with small charge, a test of the LED flashlight found it to be VERY bright (made the cat squint). The flush button on the side activated the flashlight as well as cycling through a steady light, strobe and SOS. The next day I used the flashlight to help me finish a re-wiring project that required the circuit breaker to be off. Very bright, easy to see to work.
When charging the lights blink when charging. When full all 4 lights are steady green.
Tested its charging capabilities on a dead Samsung G5 and an Alcatel Pop C3 (Don’t ask) phone and both charged fully in under 2hrs.
Tested its abilities to start a car, its primary use. I disconnected the car’s battery and connected the jumper cables to the car’s cables and the car started up immediately. Following the instructions I disconnected the jumper from the cables within 30 seconds.
Overall, I really like the jumper pack, BUT damn it’s heavy.
I hadn't started my Malibu since June. The contacts on the battery are a little rusty. I tried to get to the screw base sideways and that didn't seem to get in the groove, so I tried it face-on and it snapped right into the groove. At first I wasn't sure how well these little clamps would work, but that let's you use them face-on, which gives you better contact. This battery was COMPLETELY DEAD. I got them hooked up and plugged it into the recharger. The green "Start" light came on, so I jumped in and turned the ignition switch. In the past it wouldn't budge without giving it charge time. I usually just try it to give me an idea of how far it has to go. It instantly started turning. I had never started a completely dead battery on one start, but this started so well I decided to keep going. It started going a little bit, it turned over once or twice, and by the second or third rotation it started right up. I jumped out, disconnected and unplugged the unit, closed the hood AND I Was Good To Go!!
THIS WAS, BY FAR THE BEST AND EASIEST JUMP START I'VE EVER DONE!
I rushed home to open the amazon prime package left at my door step. Opened the package, and I found a nicely packaged box with a low profile black faux leather zipper pouch with all the attachments, along with a fairly well build micro USB cable. we all know how flimsy those cables can get.
I quickly scanned the instructions, and found the power button and functions: quick press for battery level, long press for led flash light. I pressed the button: no status; long press, no flash light. Is it dead? Surely, any knowledgeable electronics manufacturer would know not to ship a dead or nearly dead lithium battery, since you are not supposed to fully discharge them.
I plugged it into the ac charger supplied, and instantly, the bright LED flash light starts cycling through the modes like a strobe, as described in the instructions.
Any attempts at pressing the power button to stop the bright flashes were futile, as the button would respond half the time. The other half of the time, placing the device down was enough to jostle the defective button and re-initiate the bright LED flash light sequence.
I quickly got a hold of Amazon Customer service, and they would only be able to refund what I had paid, and not able to send a replacement since it is sold by BESTEK, and not directly by Amazon. I would have to put in a new order, and this time without the promo code.
Going to cut my losses here, and will be making a trip to drop off at brown. Bummer.
