MORE THAN 600 WORDS IN 30 DIFFERENT CATEGORIES
With Portable Portuguese you will speak, read, write, and understand over 600 commonly used Portuguese words and phrases in 30 different categories such as At the Hotel, At the Restaurant, Greetings, and Asking Directions.
BUILD A VOCABULARY FIRST
Language teachers and linguists have long known that you need a strong vocabulary before you tackle complicated grammar rules or conversation. And knowing just a few Portuguese survival words will go a long way in your travels.
LANGUAGE TOOL #1: TWO PORTABLE PORTUGUESE DVDs
Native Portuguese speakers (male and female) will teach you over 600 Portuguese words and phrases. You'll first see and hear the word in English and then you'll be given two chances to hear and learn the word in Portuguese. Skip a word you know or repeat it as many times as you'd like. Learn at your own pace.
LANGUAGE TOOL #2 - SPEAKMORE SOFTWARE
SpeakMore Portuguese software updates the time-tested method of flash card learning to the internet age. With SpeakMore Portuguese, you are just four simple steps away from fully comprehending over 600 commonly used words and phrases.
1. Preview It: See and hear the Portuguese words and phrases as you flip your way through the cards.
2. Recognize It: See the word in Portuguese. Speak or type the word in English. In no time at all, you'll know how to read and write all the words.
3. Produce It: Now you start to really learn Portuguese. See the English word and say or type the word in Portuguese until the definition comes to you naturally. Repeat each word as many times as you'd like.
4. Test Yourself: Once you're confident that you know all the words in a category, take a test. You can take a written test, a pronunciation test, or combine them.
SpeakMore Portuguese even learns along with you. If you struggle with a word, SpeakMore Portuguese knows to show you that word more often. If you've mastered a simple one, then SpeakMore Portuguese will only show you that word occasionally. You learn at the right pace for you.
SpeakMore Portuguese works with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OS X.
LANGUAGE TOOL #3 - PORTABLE VIDEO
Got an iPod? iPhone? If you've got a music player that also plays portable video files (H.264 for you techies) then learn Portuguese on the go. We've taken all the video files from our DVDs and converted them so you can also watch them on a portable video player.
Learn Portuguese one category at a time. Or randomize the words so you never know what will appear next. Create your own custom playlists with a media manager like iTunes. The portable video files also work as a great reference tool when traveling.
LANGUAGE TOOL #4 - PORTABLE AUDIO
We've taken all our audio files and included them as MP3 files in Portable Portuguese. MP3 files are portable audio files that play on any computer or portable players such as the iPod or Zune. We've made sure to create each file separately so you can create your own custom playlists and learn Portuguese as you d like. If you wish, you can also burn these MP3 files to a standard audio CD that plays in your car or stereo.
LANGUAGE TOOL #5 - PHRASEBOOK
Portable Portuguese includes a handy colorful phrasebook with all the Portuguese words and phrases included along with their English equivalents.
