This unit is great insurance to have and keep in the car for emergencies. I received this unit for testing and a honest review. I have owned another portable jump starter and it's saved me on several occasions over the years, so I understand the value these units can provide. This unit from Aukey is a multi-purpose model that includes a 12000mAh power bank and a good quality LED flashlight. The power bank feature worked well as I was able to charge my phone from it quickly and without any issue. The LED flashlight also has a strobe and SOS option which could be handy in roadside emergencies, the light produced from this unit was quit good and comparable to some of my lower end CREE emitter flashlights.
I tested the jump starter feature by using it in a car with a old battery that's staring to fail and doesn't start up consistently, with the jump starter connected the car would startup every time without any problem. It performed as well as my larger Clore Jump-N-Carry starter and was much more compact and lighter. The unit is a bit higher priced compared to some other jump starters but this unit has the convenience of being a more versatile all-in-one unit that saves space.
The build of unit feels quite sturdy and durable with thick plastic, it has a rubbery coating and shape that's comfortable to hold in your hand. The ports are covered up to protect them from the elements and helps it to look sleek and modern. Included are charging cables for use in the home or in the car and the alligator clip jumper cables. I really wish a carrying case or bag was included because that would help a lot with storing or transporting the device. After having to use a portable jump starter on several occasions, I would recommend others to keep a unit like this in their older vehicles.

Dealing with a dead battery in cold morning is never fun. Even if you have second car and appropriate cable it’s not an as easy task as it sounds. To make life little easier, Aukey has brought this new type of jump starter, portable enough that you can keep it in your garage or stash it in your car.
This little jump starter came in a plastic sealed paper box along with jumper cable, 15-volt AC adapter, car charger, and user manual. It includes a flashlight in one end, useful when fiddling around under the hood at night or in emergency situation. This is based on lithium ion batteries, comes with USB port to keep your other USB devices charged. Lithium ion battery can hold up to 12000mAh as a power bank but the most important for jump starting a car is peak power; 400Amp is more than enough to jump start a car even with big V8 engine. Number of jump starts in a single charge depends on several factors, however, lithium batteries can handle roughly 500 charge cycles and should be plugged in once every three months to preserve the battery.
There are jump starters in market with lower capacity and low peak amp which could be sufficient for your need, however, this is an excellent package in terms of size, design, build quality, power and flexibility. Overall, great product and for a multi-purpose jump starter, power bank and flashlight, the price is just about right ($79.99 as of 05/30/2016).
