Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This is online for free, but I wanted a physical copy since I enjoy having the actual CDs in my possession if possible. Plus, this came with a few codes for Steam; one code for a few items in Team Fortress, and the other for a copy of DOTA 2. I like it when companies release music for their games, and include a bonus for buying it. The music is the usual high quality of a regular CD bought from a store. I really enjoyed Portal 1 and 2, and the music being put onto a physical set that comes with a few extra goodies is nice to have, especially from Valve since they seem like they are one of the few companies left to actually take their time on all their products (Half-Life 3 anyone?) Overall, this is another item for my collection that I am satisfied and excited to have. Some people complained that when they received it, it was busted up. Mine came in a bubblewrap tight packaging with cardboard on the back, and the shipping info on the front. The packaging felt solid, but it made me have to use scissors on the plastic for the shipping packaging because it was wrapped so tightly that pulling on it made the casing creak and shift around (which isnt good for the plastic jewel case.) My one and only problem was with Amazon sending it two days after it released, but they made up for it with it arriving two days earlier than the promised date. Worth the $15 I spent on this, and would definitely pre-purchase something like this again if they release another music collection compiled of the quality music from their games.
I won't go into detail about the quality of the music itself. If you've played the game then you know that Portal 2 has an excellent selection of atmospheric, electronic, glitchy, and occasionally intense songs to accompany its visuals. This 4-disc collectors' set covers the complete soundtrack. Many tracks are made up of beats/sounds that you would normally hear in-game while triggering certain objects/puzzle solutions. Here, they have been woven together to create new mixes in order to make everything you heard in the game more listenable and presentable. This creates a very unique collection of tracks, in addition to having all of the music that plays during events and within areas. The first three discs cover all tracks from Portal 2's single-player and multiplayer campaigns. However, as a bonus, the fourth disc contains the equally-brilliant (though much more brief) complete Portal 1 soundtrack, along with a bonus mix of "Still Alive" featuring Jonathan Coulton's vocals in place of GLaDOS. The set is housed in a standard 4-disc jewel case and contains a booklet featuring a mini-comic, the track listing, and some artwork. The disc art for each disc represents a different personality core (very clever). There's a lot of material here for a very low price; however, keep in mind that all of these tracks are available to download for free, legally from the official website. This set is mainly for collectors who want to own a physical copy with high quality sound.
Sadly I can only give 4 stars because one song is missing. 'Exile Vilify' performed by 'The National' is not included. I love this song and have to show my dissapointment by not rating this 5 stars. People that didn't get the 'Final Transmission' achievement won't miss this lovely tune cause they've never heard it. Al least not while playin Portal 2. You should replay the game and be more thorough this time. In one of the test chambers there's a secret room. One of Rat Man's hideouts. If u don't know who Rat Man is u gotta read the comic. Sorry, got carried away, big Portal fan obviously. Love the games. Love the soundtrack. This set contains every song and musical score from Portal 1 & 2 (except one song, read above). If u are into Team Fortress 2 u get a code for a realy lovely Portal 2 themed in-game item. Also there is a Steam code for the game Dota 2 included. I hope this review is comprehensible (because I'm german). If it's not please excuse my lacking english skills. And now click on the 'Add to Cart' button. ;-)
So first when i got the box, it shows some nice artwork on the front, and a track listing on the back. Then when i opened it i was greeted by 4 personality cores, all CD's are printed with the eyes of Wheatley, Rick, Space Core and the Fact Core. The first three CD's contain the 3 volumes of the 'songs to test by' album, with all the sounds from Portal2. The last CD contains all the soundtracks of portal1. In the box you can also find a small comic about the turret lullaby and codes for DOTA and TF2. The music in this album is soothing and is great for solving problems/schoolwork, most tracks are ambient and dont contain any distracting lyrics. (except for the last one)
This album is not only nice to play in a CD player but also great for having on display as it's very pretty. Music in this album can be both found on the portal2 website, the Orangebox digital soundtrack bundled with Audiosurf. And in it's entirity on Spotify. Though in spite of this wide availability i do really recommend to purchase this as it brings a bit of the virtual portal2 into the real world ;)
I absolutely love this soundtrack. And it was incredibly affordably priced. The variety of songs on this album is fantastic and provides me with almost everything I wanted when I purchased this.
