About Portal Games
Portal Games has been publishing board games since 1999. Some of our most popular games are Robinson Crusoe, Imperial Settlers, and Tides of Time. Crazy Karts is our take at great family gaming.
Crazy Racing Fun
Simple rules and fast-paced play make this a great game for everyone!
In this team-based game each player has their own player board with five available actions: Speed Up, Turn, Repair, Power Up, and a few others. Each round players secretly select and activate actions.
Then the choices are revealed and players resolve the chosen actions. Players move their karts depending on their speed, turn, shoot at other vehicles, and do all the crazy things they planned on their boards!
- Extremely simple rules
- Mistakes made just add to the overall fun of the game
- Interact with other karts by shooting at or ramming into them!
Four unique races
Great replaybility value
Crazy Karts includes four different factions, each with a unique power. Every team chooses one faction and gets that faction's special power.
Choose your favorite faction
Dwarves can ram into obstacles, Elves can grab Power-Up tokens from a distance, Goblins can maneuver easily, and Mummies. ..Well, Mummies have bandages, so they can make a lasso and pull you in an unexpected direction.
Choose faction and have fun!
Lone Wolf variant!
If you want to play with an odd number of players, the Lone Wolf variant allows a single player to take part in the race! With a special Lone Wolf board, that single player will drive his very own, and very old, kart.
The Lone Wolf will struggle to actually move forward, as his kart is really old and has some serious structural defects. He'll draw a special token that will show him which part of the kart rebelled and which action is not available to him.
A fantastic time with your friends and family!
Crazy Karts is a great game for family game nights as well as for evenings with friends. It is perfect for casual players with it's simple rules, strong yet easy to grasp theme, and many references to silly racing video games.
Grabbing Power-Ups, ramming into your opponents, and hitting obstacles is the essence of this game. With two-sided boards, many different obstacles to encounter, and special powers to use, this game will remain entertaining for countless hours.
Grab your friends!
It's a racing game like no other! Bring your friends together and let the race begin!
Crazy Karts is team based family game that pits players in a crazy race! teams of dwarves, elves, mummies and goblins race for Championship! each player has his own player board and depending on his role in a team he is responsible for speeding up, repairs and Initiative, or turning, grabbing bonuses from track or boosting power ups! the crucial point of this crazy race is that team mates cannot communicate with each other! they cannot talk during planning phase and they need to predict what their partner is going to do! and that's where the fun begins...

There are some concepts here that are tricky if you are new to modern board games. Basically there are two players on each "team" driving a kart, you can't talk with each other about your plans. One person controls the speed, repairs, gun, the other person controls the breaks, turning and power-ups. You each have a hand of cards with different values that you're assigning to each of these in secret, and then you reveal and hope that your team-mate was thinking the same thing that you were otherwise you'll find yourselves running into traps, walls, other players, etc.
Game play is pretty quick once you get the rules down. I like that part a lot. You are never left being bored while other people make their moves. The 5 second count down rule is brutal and keeps the game moving along quickly.
Setup. you need a lot of space to play this game. the board is about three feet long (1 meter) and one foot wide (33 cm). In addition to just the board there many smaller tiles, gauges, and cards scattered around that take up space on the table as well.
The dynamic and fast-paced action makes for a very fun time. A must have for family or game parties.
