“Has anyone told you that you’re as smooth as Ex Lax?”
This is third book in the Lovibond series and it is now the turn of Porter Beckman. Porter Beckman the serial one-night-stand man who finally meets his match with a woman nearly ten years his junior, and not only that, his warehouse managers daughter. Georgia Cates brings a story of a childhood crush morphing into a woman’s reality in one seriously hot romance. Hotter, steamier and more intense than the previous books in this series but with a little added drama.
Frankee is a twenty-one-year-old graduate of graphic design and goes to an interview at Lovibond as a summer intern before she begins her life nearly a thousand miles away with her friends. Going back to where she spent a lot of her childhood brings back a lot of memories and one that comes back with a flourish was just how much she loved Porter Beckman.
Porter Beckman didn’t recognise Frankee at first, long gone is the sixteen-year-old girl he used to call “Kiddo” and instead the woman before him is all sex and channelling an inner vixen. Extremely talented, she is definitely the right person for the job but it seems that control is not Porters strong point and soon his hormones are running rife.
“Sex and fun. That’s what we chose to call this. But this isn’t just sex. This isn’t us having a little fun… We were wrong. So very wrong. This is more.”
The romance between Porter and Frankee is a little insta-love and definitely insta-lust. Knowing these two had history does make it easier to understand but given their age gap this is the first time that Porter has seen Frankee through testosterone fuelled eyes.
Georgia Cates does bring a fair amount of drama to the path of true love and while the trope used has been done a lot, I still enjoyed the direction it took, it was highly entertaining. The family unit is strong throughout and I adored the Beckman family. The chemistry between Porter and Frankee was electric and Georgia Cates perfectly captured, as always, one intense, extremely hot and highly combustible connection. These two sizzled and burned up the pages.
Fast paced and a pleasure to read, this was a great way to end the series and I am hoping that this will not be the last we see of the Lovibond men.
Porter Beckman is one of the three owners of Lovibond Brewery and he's currently looking for an intern to fill the design and marketing position until he's ready to hire someone full time. He's struggled to find the right candidate until a young woman named Francis comes for an interview. What Porter doesn't realize is that he's about to receive a blast from the past.
Francis Dawson, aka Frankee, is the daughter of one of Lovibond's best employees and while she is applying for the internship because it is in the field she earned her degree in, she can't deny that she would love to work so closely with Porter, a man she's had a crush on since she was sixteen.
Once hired, Frankee and Porter continue to get closer as they work side by side, but it's evident from the start that the attraction is there on both sides regardless of the age difference. When the two start a secret relationship, things grow much more serious than either one ever expected. Will unforeseen complications derail their future before it gets started?
Every character that Georgia Cates has created in this series has been fantastic and it was very much the same with Porter and Frankee. They were easy to relate to, they were sweet, they were sexy and their chemistry was off the charts. I loved this book and I highly recommend this entire series!
Frankie and Porter have known each other for years since her dad works for Porter. She is interning for his brew company as a graphic artist. He is 9 years her senior but she seemed more mature than him. It was odd the direction they went as a couple. She is a virgin when they get together. I thought it was weird he didn't give her a more memorable first time. She gives him her virginity on a random weekday during their lunch hour? Then the next time they have sex she's wearing crotchless panties and cut out bra? He also calls her his "porno princess" like it's a term of endearment.
Their is also a lot of sex and the guy acts like a teenager with no self control around her. Sex is great but when it's talked about so often I feel the deeper connection gets lost.
I like the setting of a brewery and the talk about how to make different flavors was new and interesting. There was also an interesting sub plot when his past comes back to become an obstacle for them as a couple.
I liked it ok but thought their were some oddities I didn't care for.
The timelines of each of these three books overlap and while you have known in the past two books that something was up with Porter, you never had a clue what it was. Stout and Tap and their significant others make brief periodic appearances and it was a wonderful closure to the series. Porter and Frankee fall for each other hard and fast. While Frankee has crushed on Porter for a few years - their age difference made it a non-starter for her and wasn't even a thought in Porter's head. When she returns to work as a graphic designer at the brewery, much less tomboy and now beautiful young woman, the connection they have changes.
I really enjoyed Porter & Frankee's story and I'm sure you will too! Enjoy!
