So let me first say I have loved this entire series. Each book was better than the last and this one was by far my favorite. I absolutely loved Porter and Frankee. Their banter was perfect and the chemistry between them was amazing. BUT... there was one piece of the story that was never tied up and it is killing me. I noted my issue at the very bottom and labeled It as a spoiler so no one who doesn't want to read it will accidentally do it.
Porter is 1/3 owner in a brewery. The brains behind the marketing and graphic design portion of the business is drowning though trying to keep up with everything. His solution is to hire an intern. What he doesn't expect is the knockout who applies. What he really doesn't expect is that said knockout is the daughter of one of his employees and someone he has known since she was 16.
Frankee is fresh out of college and in between a big move to Austin Texas. She is just looking for a summer internship to pad her resume before she sets off into the great unknown. She never thought her internship would turn into a whirlwind romance.
The problem is, when you are a manwhore who sleeps with countless no name women to pass the time one is bound to come back into your life to make things complicated. Will Frankee and Porter be able to weather the storm or will Storm Charlotte demolish the love these two have built?
Great read. I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved this book and this series.
Now for the part that I can't get past and the reason I only gave this 4 stars.
The author spent countless chapters and pages showing us what a horrible crazy person Charlotte was only to have it all end with one comment and no follow up on the subject.
Like literally for half the book this crazy woman is holding your supposed baby over your head and making your life a living nightmare and in one page after she gives birth and you take a DNA test we never hear anything more about it?
Not even enough to make us know she got what was coming to her life "crazy lady tried to pass of some other guys kids as mine but now I have a restraining order against her so she can't come near me again".
Are we really supposed to believe she was crazy enough to stalk him, make him pay for her rent when she was on bedrest and when he found out he wasn't the father he just walked away and she got away scott free????
I'm dying to know she got what was coming to her and I HAVE NO IDEA CAUSE IT WAS LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED.
AHHHHHH!!!!! SERIOUSLY! Seriously????
“Has anyone told you that you’re as smooth as Ex Lax?”
This is third book in the Lovibond series and it is now the turn of Porter Beckman. Porter Beckman the serial one-night-stand man who finally meets his match with a woman nearly ten years his junior, and not only that, his warehouse managers daughter. Georgia Cates brings a story of a childhood crush morphing into a woman’s reality in one seriously hot romance. Hotter, steamier and more intense than the previous books in this series but with a little added drama.
Frankee is a twenty-one-year-old graduate of graphic design and goes to an interview at Lovibond as a summer intern before she begins her life nearly a thousand miles away with her friends. Going back to where she spent a lot of her childhood brings back a lot of memories and one that comes back with a flourish was just how much she loved Porter Beckman.
Porter Beckman didn’t recognise Frankee at first, long gone is the sixteen-year-old girl he used to call “Kiddo” and instead the woman before him is all sex and channelling an inner vixen. Extremely talented, she is definitely the right person for the job but it seems that control is not Porters strong point and soon his hormones are running rife.
“Sex and fun. That’s what we chose to call this. But this isn’t just sex. This isn’t us having a little fun… We were wrong. So very wrong. This is more.”
The romance between Porter and Frankee is a little insta-love and definitely insta-lust. Knowing these two had history does make it easier to understand but given their age gap this is the first time that Porter has seen Frankee through testosterone fuelled eyes.
Georgia Cates does bring a fair amount of drama to the path of true love and while the trope used has been done a lot, I still enjoyed the direction it took, it was highly entertaining. The family unit is strong throughout and I adored the Beckman family. The chemistry between Porter and Frankee was electric and Georgia Cates perfectly captured, as always, one intense, extremely hot and highly combustible connection. These two sizzled and burned up the pages.
Fast paced and a pleasure to read, this was a great way to end the series and I am hoping that this will not be the last we see of the Lovibond men.
Porter Beckman is one of the three owners of Lovibond Brewery and he's currently looking for an intern to fill the design and marketing position until he's ready to hire someone full time. He's struggled to find the right candidate until a young woman named Francis comes for an interview. What Porter doesn't realize is that he's about to receive a blast from the past.
Francis Dawson, aka Frankee, is the daughter of one of Lovibond's best employees and while she is applying for the internship because it is in the field she earned her degree in, she can't deny that she would love to work so closely with Porter, a man she's had a crush on since she was sixteen.
Once hired, Frankee and Porter continue to get closer as they work side by side, but it's evident from the start that the attraction is there on both sides regardless of the age difference. When the two start a secret relationship, things grow much more serious than either one ever expected. Will unforeseen complications derail their future before it gets started?
Every character that Georgia Cates has created in this series has been fantastic and it was very much the same with Porter and Frankee. They were easy to relate to, they were sweet, they were sexy and their chemistry was off the charts. I loved this book and I highly recommend this entire series!
