A Portuguese Christmas is a sweet and wholesome Holiday Romance by Josie Riviera. I loved this wonderful story and the characters, both were well developed. I was hooked at the start. Krystal Walters a world-class surfer and could not swim. This fascinated me that she could not swim as good surfer that she was. One day a wipeout got her and changed some things for her. Adolfo is an Olive farmer and he takes Krystal under his wing to try and protect her. She has had several concussions . She still insist that she can surf , but Adolfo is stubborn like her. Who wins out? A very good Christmas Holiday story . Enjoyed it very much.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review.
Krystal Walters was just getting a chance to enjoy the the Portuguese countryside when she experienced a surfing accident that left her dealing with a concussion. She was informed that getting home for the holidays needed to be changed because traveling wasn't part of the doctor's orders.
Adolfo Silva spent most of his time working from sunrise to sunset on the family's olive farm, but seeing Krystal being hit by a huge wave and swallowed up by tons of ocean water made him realize that there is more to life than just working.
He decides taking care of Krystal and keeping her safe is his main priority and hopes he can get her to see that spending Christmas with him and his family won't be so bad. It might even be worth it, maybe for the rest of their lives.
I was given an ARC from the author. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
This is a sweet holiday romance set in an interesting location. I loved learning about the Portuguese traditions, festivals, and all that food had me hungry! Krystal is a strong personality, she's driven by such an intense desire to succeed that she ignores her injuries and sometimes common sense. But she's really likable, and her backstory explains exactly why she's so driven. Adolfo is sweet in both languages, and they're great together.
The narration was really well done, Allyson Voller performed a range of character voices and had a great accent for the Portuguese characters. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a Christmas romance set in Portugal. The characters were engaging and each has a personality that keeps the listener wondering if they will get together or not. Learning about Christmas customs from abroad was a bonus.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Allyson Voller was delightful to listen to.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
