The plot starts with our heroine finding an advertisement in the paper for a model and applying for the position, finding her employer is more than what he seems, an artist who paints nudes. They bond and everything begins from there. It’s a classic story that we've heard in real life, artists who fall head over heels for their models.
The story is very emotional and moves along well from point to point. Both Mia and Roman have pasts they must work through to make their relationship work. Mia’s added issues with money only add more drama to the tale.
The setting is the ghettos and barrios of Los Angeles, a gritty setting. Most romance novels feature exotic or more mainstream locations like tropical islands, small towns or the more upscale settings of New York or Chicago as readers often wish an escape experience in their stories. POSE FOR THE BILLIONAIRE breaks that mold by showing a gritty real-life setting that’s anything but admirable.
There are few secondary characters but that is expected of novellas. Mia’s younger brother is front and center, intelligent and precocious. His familiarity with street life at such a young age is eye opening and sad. I enjoyed reading his take on Mia’s decisions.
All in all, POSE FOR THE BILLIONAIRE is a good series and I did enjoy it. I do wish it had been published at a single novel to make the reading experience less choppy and interrupted.
Can I just say how much I love Roman Evans?!
Seriously, where in the world do you find someone so hot yet sweet and gentle and just…(I could go on and on about how awesome this man is but you get the picture!)
One word. EXTRAORDINARY.
Roman is this one man you would probably NEVER EVER meet in real life!
(Yes, let the tears begin!)
It’s so sad when you think about how Roman doesn’t exist in real life because he is so sweet, so patient and even though he wants Mia, he would back off immediately when he realise how Mia feels about certain things.
I can never know what Mia’s thoughts are because her decision to accept her ex-boyfriend’s proposal and not Roman’s help but I think its probably because she doesn’t trust anyone?
(Um, scratch that. I don’t understand her thoughts.)
Part 2 in the series does move things up a little but seriously, can I suggest that if you’re going to start the Pose For A Billionaire series (speaking of posing, the drawing for Mia has been…not been making progress?!), its best to make sure you have all three novels!
(Otherwise, you will be just be screaming for more!)
Highly recommended for readers to read in sequence and would enjoy a sweet contemporary romance short story!
