Review
"It's rare to come across a series that is so unputdownable, but the conflict of morals versus feelings in the Explicitly Yours Series is all-consuming. Hawkins writes forbidden romance with a gripping intensity that flows from the pages. She keeps the reader not only invested, but hoping the characters do the morally wrong thing because even though it's wrong, it's so right...and so hot. The sex is off the charts, the struggles are real, and Beau is one sexy alpha."--Author Lisa Suzanne
"This is what Jessica does. She creates astory so compelling that overwhelms you and takes you for the ride of yourlife. It changes you and what you believe. It shakes you to the core."--Mia's Point of View
"From the first sentence, this book had aslow burn that gradually increased until the ending where it was a raginginferno and it felt like my heart might beat right out of my chest...If I could give this book more than 5 stars, Iwould."--A Risqué Affair Book Blog
"An indecent proposal, an offer she's not sure if she should refuse, or if she wants to...this story gets in your head and makes you question where you thought you stood on certain topics. Jessica Hawkins drags you into this angsty tale and the lives of these characters to such an extent that you are right there living their story with them. We loved it, and we're still holding out hope for more!"--Romance Readers Retreat Book Blog

Besides all the character flaws this was actually well written grammatically, otherwise this one is a definite pass. The next book hopefully will reveal why he is the way he is or something like that to make sense of this bit of craziness. Oh and why is she putting up with his mood swings? A money buys a lot but he should at least uphold common decency.
Lola and Johnny have been in a committed relationship for quite some time, they both work at Hey Joe, a once trendy bar on the sunset strip. Johnny’s dream is to one day own a bar, but lacks the motivation to accomplish this dream. They both live paycheck to paycheck, not able to enjoy any fine things in life.
Lola meets Beau on the side walk outside Hey Joe. She is instantly drawn to him and his “movie-star good looks”. He looks out of place in this part of town but they are both captivated by each other. As the night comes to an end and the bar is closing, Johnny and Lola are offered a deal they can’t possibly turn away from. Beau wants own and command Lola for 1 night, and in return Johnny’s dream would come true.
If you are having second thoughts about reading this book, I say just get past the first couple of chapters, I promise this book will have you hooked. I have finished book 2 (Domination) and just begun reading Book 3 (Provocation), these books will grip and own you to a point that you will have an extremely hard time putting them down!
The first book ends after the night Beau paid for, but several things that arose during their encounter made me think we were in for something very calculated to materialize that answered some questions about Why Beau chose to spend his only night with Lola the way he did.
Beau is a self made millionaire who believes his money can buy him whatever of whoever he wants. Lola is the only person who has put a kink in his belie about his wealth. He sets out to prove her wrong. However, along the way things get very complicated and once what seemed to Beau’s end game with Lola ends up blowing up in his face.
When he least expects it, Lola turns the table on him and makes him question all his motives over the past ten years. Will he be able to right his wrongs or is the damage irreparable?
If you like raw, gritty, steamy, messy, heartbreak and a little taboo, then you will love this series!
What seems like a redo of the movie Indecent Proposal, turns out to be a bit more. Had Lola and Beau met under different circumstances, maybe they could have been together. Or maybe not. But fate gave them a different introduction, and Beau took advantage of the opportunity. There are clearly more layers of Lola and Beau separately, and I'm really looking forward to see what's deeper form them.

One evening a sexy and somewhat mysterious stranger comes in, and is entranced by Lola. He knows Johnny is her boyfriend and yet it doesn’t stop him from flirting with her. From telling her exactly what he wants. In fact, he comes up with a proposition for them. He, Beau, will give them $500000 to buy the bar (or do with as they wish) for one night with Lola. Enraged, they ask him to leave.
But as the days pass, it becomes clear that they both want the money. To buy the bar and make it what they want, to save the jobs of their colleagues as well as their own, to preserve the history of the bar itself. So in a desperate moment, they agree to Beau’s deal, if he increases the amount.
Will they recover from this “accepted cheating”? Or will one night change everything for them all?
Wooooow! What a premise! I had a lot of conflicting emotions with this one! One the one hand Lola’s attraction to Beau was palpable, but her love for Johnny was real. I don’t know how you get over this as a couple. It’s not something I could cope with, regardless of the money and how much it may better their lives. Could you?
Beau was so very alpha. Demanding as hell, dominant, possessive. But Lola loved every minute of it, as much as she wished she didn’t. He also made her really think about her life and what she wants from it. Johnny probably didn’t help by being kind of a douche after the fact, but I can understand that he was feeling incredibly conflicted.
I’m totally hooked and need to go read book 2 now!

Under the shadow of unemployment, Beau Olivier walks into the bar and turns Lola's world upside down. He will give the couple 1 million dollars if Lola will spend the night with him.
There are many of these types of books available. Whilst enjoyable, there is nothing outstanding about the plot. I don't really feel the need to carry on with the series. So until next time, enjoy peeps 😉

*** Book details, spoilers ahead ***
I love that Lola took the deal but hate that Johnny didn't try to stop her. I hate that he lied about the business card. I hate that his inability to accept change put a money value on the woman he's supposed to love. And I hate that he doesn't notice or doesn't want to notice that working behind the bar isn't what she wants.
Lola I love. I really enjoyed the pieces of information we got about her life, I'm eager to get to know her better. I hope she figures out where she wants to be. I don't think it's at the bar with Johnny and I don't think she loves him, maybe she does but for me I think she see's someone loyal, someone who'll always be there and I think she loves that more than the man himself.
Beau's hot and cold can be confusing but I think she disarmed him the moment they met and he's trying his best to be 'himself'. I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out. Personally I hope she leaves Johnny be so he can continue to wait for something good to pass while she gets her fill of Beau, but not for the money or for Johnny but for herself.

Definitely worth reading as the characters, dialogue and storyline was first class. I really enjoyed it and my only negative is I it ended far too soon.
But the light at the end of the tunnel is there's a book two... Will I buy it, darn tooting I will!
