A straight piece of aluminum that you stick into a potato. Ya it is simple but very effective. Get a well cooked baked potato each time, cuts about 20-30 minutes off of the back time. I have several types of these but this one is the best I have. I especially like the large triangle at the end that makes handling them far more EZ then any other "potato nail".

Every cook needs potato nails and these are the best; potatoes cook faster without exploding and these are even better with the large "handle" that is easier to put in and out of the potato and oven/

Well I will give this a good try - we bought these for BBQ and clearly they are half the thickness of real nails from the 1970's ... so feel free to double them up. Baking potatoes need a much thicker nail to deliver the heat.

Great! My single son cooked potatoes for his Thanksgiving feast. To say they were rocks, would be mean. They were the textures of rocks. Poor thing was so embarrassed. I cut the into tiny pieces and microwaved them, but needless to say, it was not what he had planned! So, I came onto Amazon, found the stakes and into my shopping cart they went! They were a big hit at Xmas!

Baking nails are great, only problem I had was removing the tag from each nail...suggest the tag be placed on the section that sticks out of potato instead of on the section that goes into potato. Has a terrible time removing all of the glue.

I bought 2 sets of these potato baking nails and gave a set to my son. I had bought some years ago and hadn't been able to find them. They work great! They're making them long enough now that they'll go through a big baking potato. They are also good for sweet potatoes. I would highly recommend this product. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

these work great. Nice and long.
Most stores offer needle thin prongs. These are nice and thick.
I had looked a long time for these. Glad to have finally found some.

Great Product! Potatoes are baked evenly and thoroughly in half the time. I'm ordering another set for a family member and of course for myself. :)
