It is not a romance in the normal sense of the word. But there is true love, the kind of love that connects your soul to the other person in a permanent and all consuming way.
This story starts out about Blake and Livia, but it encompasses so many more people than that. Both of Blake's brothers are included with their own "edge of my seat" storyline. I couldn't put it down, all 400+ pages. It's not all happiness and roses, it has some heart stopping drama. I have never read anything like this. The story is unique at it's core. Some of the storyline can be seen as a path already written about by others. But there were instances where I literally cried over a scene. That is how emotionally invested I am with these characters.
At first I thought, I'll just star rate this one and move on. But no way, after sleeping with them and still feeling attached to them I had to share my love for these 3 brothers and the impact they have on me. I sent a tweet to the author with about 6 crying emoticons to show how much this story impacted me. (trying not give out spoilers as to why I was crying). Emotional, riveting, all consuming. I can't wait to read the whole series. Sometimes it pays to start later, now I don't have to wait for next ones to come out. Well Done Miss Anastasia!!! Loved it!!
The romance aspect is what draws me but it is the drama and heartrending aspects that make POUGHKEEPSIE stand at the top of a huge heap of downright wonderful books.
I'm very much looking forward to the second book in this series; the book for Beckett and Eve who so badly need their own HEA and how that can happen for them at the point of the end of this book - looks improbable. This reader.....she is keeping her fingers crossed for them.
This type of book is why I keep reading......a person just never knows when they'll find that special jewel. Thank you dear authoress.
