Should have read the reviews on this one. I’m a one cup of coffee girl. I use a coffee press but the small size is too small and the big size is too big. I was looking for the Goldilocks fit of brewing the perfect coffee for just me. I thought this was the ticket. I even bought a gooseneck electric water kettle. Well this looked like it would serve its purpose but it’s extremely flawed. The lid is terrible and doesn’t make sense. Too many parts and it makes it hard to clean. Also the plastic does cheapen this. It also doesn’t screw in as a lid you just pull it off. I don’t get the little plastic vent in the middle. The filter is nice quality and I’m not gonna lie I love the orange makes it easy to find. I will stick with my coffee press. I would return this but I don’t know if it’s worth the headache.

Had to come back and add 2 stars. Although I still stand behind my review I am impressed that the customer service is so good. I received an email from the owner offering to refund me. I turned down the offer for the refund since I do still use it but I have to say I wish more companies cared to that level to stand behind their product and make a happy customer.

Edited: Coffee Gator reached out to correct any problems that I was having with the product, so A+ customer service. I do use this product most days and the cup and screen are holding up well. While my above concerns are still valid, maybe I just got a strange cup. as I said I use this every day, while working, and it has been brewing good coffee.

Have been using this for a few days and really like the quality of the coffee it brews. Have to use a little bit of a coarser grind. Filter is easy to clean and brewing takes only a few minutes. A few things bothered me a bit. 1) as with many reviews the lid is a little chintzy. It seems like it will last, but also like it could fall our with a full drink knocked over. 2) there is a sharp part on the lip of my drink container. It doesn't seem to be a hazard for a cut, but it maybe where the can is sealed and lead to a problem with the vacuum. 3) there is some of the orange coating on the inside of the glass, i am sure its just sprayover, but you would think at this price point they would not have that. I wanted to test how well the Coffee Gator metal filter filtered the sludge you get from a typical french press. What I did was put the Coffee Gator metal filter on top of another metal filter and poured my french press coffee through both. The other metal filter has a tighter and finer mesh and was able to filter out mud/sludge that the Coffee Gator metal filter let through.

See attached picture. The Coffee Gator metal filter is NOT very good at filtering, and the mesh isn't fine enough.
