Pregnenolone is a tremendously underated supplement that I have used for years. Scientists are just now finding out the importance of pregnegnolone, this supplement was tested heavily in the 1950's and found to be very effective especially for rheumatoid arthritis. The studies were stopped when cortisone was discovered, but as many of us have found out cortisone and its "cousins" have a lot of side effects, this has brought science back to the discarded pregnegnolone which has virtually no side effects, and is effective in so many other ways that should be checked before using and of course consult with your doctor. Now with this powdered Powder City brand, after I got used to how 10 grams seem like such a small amount, but 10 grames is 10000 m.g. This envelope comes with a 10 mg scooper,. I take 50 mg daily which is 5 scoops When you compare the pure powdered and unflavored powder you'll wonder why you tried tablets when they'll boast 50 or 100 mg and charge so much more. Comes in an package that can be sealed like a ziploc bag and the 10 mg. scooper. I have taken this supplement for 5 years every day and most people that have tried this knows the benefits, don't be fooled by tablets, this can be used in every drink I've tried milk, fruit juice, coffee and you won't know it's there. Update-After many attempts at mixing it with cold liquid I've found that it dissolves much better in warm or hot liquids coffee, tea, warm water etc,
I am using this due to hypothyroid and as an aging supplement. From research I find that it is best to take on an empty stomach first thing in the morning with DHEA before any thyroid meds. It converts directly to progesterone. I have also found that it is known as the "mother hormone" and can be taken anywhere from 10mg to over 100mg daily. Since I have only recently received this in the past week, I cannot attest to effects yet. Again, due to research I am starting at 50mg daily and will go up from there maybe twice a day morning with DHEA and at night with GABA. From older seniors (I am 65) I have seen reviews as to aiding in energy, brain alertness, drive and determination. It also relieves depression and arthritic symptoms. There are no known side-effects of pregnenolone and decreases by over 60% as we age.Powder City Pregnenolone Supplement (10 Grams)
I usually use a sublingual 10mg pregnenolone, but the brand I use seems to have run into a production snafu and I can't find it anywhere. I went online to find a replacement, even if temporary, and I found two that interested me - another brand's sublingual and then this powder. After much debating, I decided on trying the powder. The real deciding factor was just how many doses you get in one bag (yes, these are bags, but they are the "zipping" style, so your stuff stays safe and fresh). It comes with a teeny tiny scoop that has a long handle (so it reaches easily into the bag without you needing to get your hand inside the bag), and that scoop is one 10mg dose. You can add it to a liquid, if you want, but I put it straight under my tongue and then swish some water and swallow. My thought process is that I don't want to loose any of that teeny tiny dose to the sides of a cup, should they choose to do so. It tastes like nothing, really (again - *under* my tongue, so there may be some sort of flavour, but I perhaps bypass it).
The quality is quite good. I had been out of my usual brand long enough that, when this came and I took my first dose, I could completely feel it. It is hard to describe, if you've never felt pregnenolone before... but if the dose is too strong, it feels panicky.... if the dose is right, it feels sort of as if your coffee just kicked in and you feel great. After an initial dose or two, that sensation stops happening - at least as a *whoosh*/"wow" - and you just feel.... normal. But, not the sluggish "normal" you may have come to know... but the "normal" you remember being years ago.
I take pregnenolone at the suggestion of a healthcare provider to help with certain conditions (including, oddly, panic attacks). Being a hormone, it is best to first check with your healthcare provider and see if it is right for you. Playing with hormones can be a risky game, and better to know what you are doing than gamble blindly.
