I also verified it produces a pure sine wave using an old analog scope. However when plugging in a switching power supply (like a laptop charger) there is a "glitch" near the top of each sine wave. This can cause a buzzing noise on cheap audio equipment. This unit also generates a lot of high frequency noise on the DC input side. So if you have any little projects (Raspberry Pi) powered from your battery, you would need a way to filter that noise.
This unit does not appear to automatically shut off when battery is low. It does emit a loud piercing beep so you would need to be around this unit to switch it off. Otherwise I've noticed as the battery drains lower it can get into a state where output immediately drops to 70VAC. At this point the "battery gets a break" which causes the output to go back up to normal only to fall again to 70VAC. So it goes into this endless loop until you shut it off.
CON: Produces significant electrical interference.
This true sine inverter provides consistent power that has appropriately charged my camera batteries, laptop, and other sensitive electronics in my truck for about a month. The lukewarm review is for the impact this inverter has on product use WHILE they charge. It seems to produce significant electrical interference -- I've had consistent issues with running audio through an aux cable when my phone is charging (or even touching the power cable) as well as issues with touch screens while plugged in on various devices.

I never got to use the unit because I connected it incorrectly (totally my fault). It seems like its well built and would work fine.Read more
