I bought this book after having seen the complete season 1 (and unfortunately only season) of the NBC show "The Philanthropist". The series was a fictionalized show based on the real life Philanthropist Bobby Sager.

Sager traveled the globe, using his billions of dollars to make a difference in many third world countries that many of us wouldn't know how to spell or pronounce, much less GO there.

While traveling, Sager took photographs of the children he came across in these poor and often very dangerous lands. Areas like Serbia and Rwanda, there are these heartbreaking images of children suffering like we would never even be able to comprehend.

There's a little girl in the book that has some serious facial scarring from what looks like an acid burn or something, and yet she has the most infectious smile on her face, like a little kid who's gotten a toy for Christmas.

And in the book Sager posits for us to think about what pissed us off today. What bothered us and got us stressed out? It would likely not even compare to what this little girl goes through on a daily basis.

This book is excellent and a great way to put our own lives in perspective. I know I'm guilty of feeling down about aspects of my life that go wrong, and then I have to keep telling myself that no matter how screwed up my life may be, no matter what hardships I'm going through, there are others in this world that would kill to be in my shoes. To have MY "problems".

The price of this book is phenomenal right now through the third party sellers, and really this is a fantastic coffee table book of images and writings by Sager, and pictures from the concerts of The Police, being that Sting is a close personal friend of Sager's who actually proposed the TV show to NBC.

This is an important book that should be read by all.
