Also the lock hasp for the sliding glass door has already broken as well. I’ll be contacting the company for a replacement for both although I feel like I shouldn’t have to deal with this when I’ve only had it since April 20th and it’s May 25th now. I can understand things going wrong maybe after a year or two with daily use, but one month?! And for something that costs $600 should be better quality.
Now the positives are I can plug this into an alexa plug and turn it on and off whenever I want and control when my dogs go outside. It only works for their collars keeping out critters and they have freedom to go in and out as they please with added security. It’s exactly what I wanted functionality speaking.
Too bad that it has major flaws in its design, quality, and durability.
Update: I contacted the company and they’re sending me a new lock hasp and the indoor sensor needed to be cleaned off with compressed air. I still like the door, however I still feel that the quality and durability is lacking. It definitely has potential to be a great dog door.
Second Update: After buying this dog door I’ve since gotten a puppy. Thanks to having this pet door my puppy was able to be potty trained in only a few weeks rather than months. She goes in and out as she pleases. Just like my older dogs she sits at the door and stares out it while the wind blows in her hair. They all love doing this for some reason. I have 4 dogs so it can be a little annoying when they do this, so I’ll tell alexa to turn off the dog door because I have it plugged into a smart outlet and I’ll turn it back on when one of them paws at the door to go outside. It’s definitely one of my favorite purchases. I just wish it was a tad more durable and that I didn’t have to put so much money into insulating it. I’m changing my stars to 5 star because despite its short comings it’s definitely a purchase I’m happy that I’ve made.
