They tend to be mostly sex scenes with a little bit of story, the problem is I didn't find most of them sexy. I've read the entire series but this book did nothing for me. Max was frequently insecure and Ethan came off as a doormat. One of the stories had Max considering a questionable contract, dismissing Ethan's contribution to the company while putting Ethan in a compromising situation. There was a story about child sexual abuse, in case that's a trigger for you. And there was another about humiliation play; a subject I don't care for. What I enjoy about the series is their relationship, the love they share and I didn't like Max in many of the stories. If this had been my only exposure to the Sin City series, I would not have read any of the other books. I debated giving this book a lower rating but I couldn't do that to a series I mostly enjoyed.

Every once in a while, I’ll check this author’s Amazon page to see if there’s a new Sin City book available. I’m crazy about Max and Ethan, so I was delighted to see this collection of short stories. As the author points out in the Forward, these are stand-alone, “what if” works that don’t mesh with the series’ storylines, but I found them to be well worth reading. If you haven’t read the Sin City books, this isn’t the place to start, but it is the place to finish!

Update, 9/18/2018: Just finished the latest book, Aftermath. It’s a definite must-read!

I love the sin city series and love Max and Ethan. These "what if" stories hit the spot. Loved the different scenarios and the end game of absolute love. These two are soul mates and they are attuned to each other. I need more of this series specifically book 12, etc

This compilation of shorts featuring Sin City’s, Max and Ethan, could I suppose be read as a standalone, but you’d gain so much more from it if you read the aforementioned title beforehand. It’s a terrific 10-book series and will help you understand and appreciate the dynamics and evolution of this now established couple, who are, imho, one of the hottest m/m pairings ever.

The majority of this little lot are lightening-quick and unapologetically filthy, with one particularly drool-worthy scene involving exhibitionism/voyeurism, humiliation and slut-shaming - which ticks every one of Ethan’s [and my..lol] fantasy kinks. However, there are a couple that are slightly longer in length and focus more on the couple’s unwavering love and devotion for one another, and how, in times of crisis or when the need arises, they prove to be one another’s rock, and safe place.

It was great catching up with this couple of kinksters again, and see them still so happy and hot for each other a few years down the line. I love both guys, but Max is just..*coughs*..something else! Swarthy, handsome, leonine, possessive and self-assu..nah..arrogant AF..and as for that smut-talkin’ mouth? Yup, I’m more than a little in love 😍 if it wasn’t blindingly obvious.

It has taken me a while to get round to reading this one. Big mistake on my part. It did though give me a push to re-read the previous 11 books in this series, which was a very good thing.
Not being a lover of short stories usually I thought this was a brilliant addition to the series. It gives a bit more insight into Max and Ethan's relationship and covers the extra bits that aren't in any of the books but fits in perfectly. The last story had me laughing out loud. I would like to say poor Dominic has a lot to put up with, but I just can't!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. It isn't too heavy nor does it get too involved with the general running of the business, instead concentrating on storylines that directly affect the two main characters.
Looking forward to book 12. Max really needs to sort his father out and hopefully that will happen in the not too distant future.
Recommended.
