The lobster mode is attractive, holds together very well, and is, as of this writing, the single biggest Zord in the Power Rangers Samurai Zord line. This means that it will have far greater play value in itself, with movable claws, legs and tail. The ClawZord also has posts for you to stand a Power Rangers Samurai Action Figure on, and this extra play value is greatly appreciated.
The robot mode is rather remarkable too. It has 3 modes of play, with interchangeable weapons and faces. In robot mode, the size of the ClawZord is about the same as the Samurai Megazord, making them go well together.
If you have the Samurai Megazord, you can combine it with the ClawZord to create a massive, cool-looking Megazord. Like all of its other modes, this combination holds up very well and is a lot of fun. The ClawZord combines with the Octozord to form a fourth mode of play, but I can't comment on this because I don't have the Octozord.
All in all, the ClawZord is probably the toy that offers the best value in the Power Rangers Samurai Zord line. It is simple enough to not frustrate your kids, yet intuitive and clever enough to keep them entertained for a long time. It also does not suffer from design problems or quality control issues that some other Zords, like the Beetlezord, may have. If you had to pick only one Zord set, I'd strongly recommend the ClawZord.
Now for the combination between the Samurai Megazord and the Clawzord. I have not owned a combining Megazord since... around the Wild Force era, and that was only limb-swapping! This is a full-on combination, bringing together the Lion, Dragon, Bear, Turtle, Monkey/Ape (whatever Bandai calls it) and the Clawzord into the... well, the box doesn't really say what this combination is called. It just says "Collect and combine to create the ultimate Megazord!". And the episode of the series where this combination appears hasn't aired.... So, I guess we'll call it "Samurai Ultrazord" for now. It stands at around 15 inches tall, which is an average size for a combination of two Megazords. He looks *fantastic*. The legs (Bear and Dragon) look pretty scrawny, but that's only apparent when the legs are next to the skinny Lobster legs. It stands fine on its own, just from looking head-on, you can definitely tell.
Overall, this is a great toy, it's well put together on its own (Excluding the Samurai Megazord and Octozord) but the whole gimmick of Megazords is to combine them, and since most kids have the Samurai Megazord already, they will definitely want the Clawzord as well. I whole-heartedly recommend this toy.
With a few tricky moves, BattleZord can turn into ClawZord, a VERY large lobster. He is a big figure as BattleZord, but he gets quite a bit longer when he transforms into the lobster mode. He looks really cool as a lobster. It is not a second thought about what he could be. He is clearly a lobster.
He is strong and well made. I haven't come across any weak points in the body yet. There are some smaller parts that could potentially become lost, but all of the parts fit together really well, and stay in place.
The only concern I would have would be with the claws. They have a bit of a snap to them when they are opening and closing. That is the only potential spot I could see kids getting their fingers pinched.
Overall a really nice BIG figure. He stands up right along the other Zords. He has great coloring and design. He will be a welcome addition to any Power Rangers fan collection.
