There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
For this reason, this book has become a skimmer for me rather than a text to read thoroughly. I read the summary of concepts at the end of the chapters first, then filter through all of the attempts at storytelling to get deeper. But really, just give me the MEAT!
This is the first and only technical book I have read that actually unfolds like a good story, with the dilemma, a possible white knight, the resistance, struggle and eventual triumph that anyone in the IT industry can relate to.
Nothing sounds so far-fetched, even (SPOILERS!!!) a laptop flying across the office and getting embedded in a wall!
What I find amazing about it is how it introduces the concepts and principles of SCRUM in a way that makes it easy for anyone to apply in a lot of projects.
The fact that SCRUM ensures you get early feedback in the project before you are neck deep in the wrong pool is worth the investment in adding this to your library.
Anyway, 'nough said!!
Get this book if you want to see ways that this thing called SCRUM can potentially save you millions in wasted resources while allowing you deliver a final product on time, within budget and possibly much better than originally envisioned.
This is a great book. If you are thinking of starting an agile journey, do yourself a favor and get this book as the starting point. You will not be sorry.
Top international reviews
It's about a company having serious problems to finish a software project, with employees seeing their jobs fading away..... And how this company recovered from complete failure to success by deploying Scrum into the process with the help of a consultant.
A really really good point of view for those people who are studying the feasibility of starting Scrum in their companies or projects.
Nice to read and good recomendation as a first lecture to any manager being told about SCRUM for the first time.
I Now know Scum and how effective it can be
