I just had these fail on barbell shrugs. I am lucky they both ripped otherwise my right shoulder would have dislocated at best. I was doing shrugs with 315 and on rep 10 the left side hook tore completely from the wrist wrap, as it was falling it ripped the right side off as well (thankfully). These work fine for about 5-6 months which is how long I have owned these but they will eventually fail, I am very lucky I wasn't injured but if I were you I would not risk it. Picture attached.

Very Very Very disappointed. Sorry. I've been lifting for at least a decade. Current primary use for power lifting hooks: weighted pull-ups.

I already own a pair of Shiek Power Lifting Hooks (1200PLH), but I wanted a second pair to keep in my locker at the gym. Had no idea how ungrateful I was for my Shieks until I received these Crown Gear Hooks in the mail.

Because of the innumerable positive reviews posted all over the web, I honestly thought they would end up better than my Shieks. I was dead wrong...

These Crown Gear Hooks don't even compete. Right out of the box, the stitching is no where near as detail-oriented as my Shieks. The threading materials used in the Crown Gear Hooks appear frail in comparison to the material used in my Shieks. The metal is thinner. The padding is thinner. And the design is nowhere near as mission-oriented as my Shieks either. Which to me is the most important part...

The last thing I want to focus on when executing beast mode in the gym is fidgeting to get my hooks. These Crown Gear Hooks were a total pain the neck to get on and tighten. Because of their faulty design, the strap used to tighten the wrist wrap consistently folds over before tightening (see photos). My Shieks don't have this problem. I just put them on, tighten and lift. Easy day.

Don't take my word for it. Especially if you have Prime. Order these AND the Shiek Power Lifting Hooks (1200PLH) at the same time. Compare them side by side and try them both on. Unless I am insane, the difference will be obvious. Keep the better one of the two, then take advantage of the no cost return policy and simply send back the inferior pair.

Note: I put two stars instead of one because compared to cheaper versions, these are still a good pair of lifting hooks. However, besides lack of experience, I can't imagine why anyone would buy these over the Shiek 1200PLHs.

Many people begin a strength exercise program with what is known as a "weak link." This means that a particularly weak muscle or any other region of the body may deter a person's ability to fully target the intended muscles of an exericse. For example, with a pull-down exercise, weak hands will give out long before the back can be worked hard enough. Other medical conditions may also make the hands so vulnerable to pain that effective weight training becomes impossible. The solution can be found by using lifting hooks. They make it possible to fully target the larger muscles while completely sparing the hands. As a personal trainer who must accomodate clients with hand issues, I have been very pleased with the quality of Crown's Power Weight Lifting Hooks. They are well made and exceptionally durable.

These have been great so far! They are comfortable; the padded wrist strap doesn't dig in like some others I have tried. I am a woman with small wrists and I am able to tighen the straps so they are secure for me. I love them!

Due to a physical condition, I can't lift without wearing some type of weightlifting hook. I purchased a different set with a narrower hook, and they wore out quickly, kept slipping off equipment and generally weren't particularly sturdy. My husband found these, and we ordered a pair. They are the best hooks I've ever used. The material that covers the hook is non-slip and they're wider so they're more secure on equipment. My only gripe is that the thin material that lines the inside of the cuff gets sweaty, and because of that, the fabric pulls away from the cuff. It can get a bit irritating to my wrists. These hooks have a 1 year warranty, so I wrote to the company to let them know what happened. Honestly, the customer service from Crown Gear is wonderful. They simply asked for a photo of the hooks showing what happened, and a copy of my Amazon order and a new pair was sent to me free of charge the next business day.

I absolutely love these grips. I have a very weak grip but I like to lift heavy. With these I was able to increase weight reps and sets on dead lifts and pull downs. Weighted walking lunges were better too. Without throbbing hands I can concentrate on form instead of shifting my weight to compensate. I must have these in my gym bag 24/7 now. The grips are very solid and the cuffs are thick and sturdy. Very good quality.

I tried them on for my back workout. I have small wrists and hands, it didn't fit me. The hooks were too long for my taste, I went back to my good old straps and performed better. However I must say, they are built with quality and will probably be a good addition for bigger guys.
