Safety, durability & quality are built in
The Power Wheels Batman Lil’ Quad vehicle has strong, wide tires that perform on hard surfaces and grass. The sturdy low-rider base makes it easy for toddlers to get on and off all by themselves, and the footrests make the ride comfortable. The maximum cruising speed of this Lil’ Quad vehicle is 2 miles per hour – fast enough to be fun, but slow enough for safety. And to keep it simple, it only goes forward. All kids have to do to make it go is push a button, and they’re cruising all on their own!

The Power Wheels Batman Lil’ Quad ATV lets toddlers control the action while building a sense of self-confidence. They will start to learn about cause and effect with the simple push of a button. They will also build motor skills, balance and cognitive skills as they drive around, and get on and off the vehicle. Kids will develop role play skills as they pretend to drive around on their own adventures with Batman!
The Fisher-Price Power Wheels Batman Lil' Quad vehicle combines sporty ATV styling with awesome toddler friendly features! This vehicle is designed specifically for toddlers with easy push-button operation and comfortable footrests. 6-volts of battery power provide a fun, but safe 2 mph maximum speed. And it rides low, so it's easy for little ones to get on and off by themselves. It's as sturdy as it looks - and just as much fun to drive too!

It took my grandson a few tries but he loves it. Other boys tried it at the party, but the girls clung to their Daddies. It is not necessary for a boy to walk to use this toy. They can easily crawl over to it, climb up and on, and go. The speed was faster than I expected at a full charge, The first few times it is ridden you will need to have someone making sure the driver doesn't fall off, and to demonstrate the button. They get the idea to "hold on" quickly, pushing the button comes next, and then bad boy has wheels!
By 2 years any child should be able to use this toy. The issue quickly becomes keeping the larger kids from destroying it. Its the kind of toy every kid gravitates too, so don't be surprised when your 5-8 year old wants to ride. So far it has survived, which is a good indication of its construction.
I was surprised at the small battery, but power consumption and capacity is about right for low mass riders. A larger child will drain the battery faster. I had fully charged the battery prior to the party and completed the assembly, using the larger box Amazon ships the original carton in to hold the finished toy, complete with decals. This was a big mistake because larger siblings of some guests, well over the weight limit, became uncontrollable.
Better to use the original box, and let the parents control things after the sugar induced party crowd has moved on.
The directions are simple. You will need two screwdrivers and the pictures on the box to put it together (helpful for decals). Assembly took about 30 minutes (decals took the longest), and you need to charge the battery 12 hours before the first use according to the instructions.
It would be helpful if the battery charger had its own connection point which did not require disconnecting the motor, but I understand the issue of junior getting on while its charging and ripping the guts out. On the other hand, a hidden DPDT switch would be very helpful and could disable the run button. The electrical connectors used are fairly rugged. If you can control the larger kids and keep them off, this toy would last through several children (probably replacing a worn out battery). Good luck with that though because every visitor who can sit on it will. A weight interlock would prevent this, but at some point it ceases to be a toy and becomes a Chevy.
