creates a ripple effect of healing for both parents, children and the
generations to come.
Dr. Charlotte Reznick, in this unique and groundbreaking book, takes us deeply into the inner worlds of children, where they, too, can use imagery to explore trauma and misunderstandings that are dominating their lives right now, to correct, heal and provide tools and values that can literally change their young lives and the lives and directions of their parents.
The amazing part of this book is that, above being an excellent reference for therapists to learn how to use imagery with their young clients, Dr. Reznick is actually teaching the parents to do imagery with their children. With her nine tools, hundreds of stories to illustrate what others have experienced, scripted imageries to be used both by the parents and the children, she covers every possible issue a child may have to deal with; from temper to bedwetting, from illness to acting out.
Majestic in its simplicity, classic in its wisdom, this is a book on how to be the best parent, as well as teaching children the tools, through imagery, to take charge of their own lives in the best way possible. We highly recommend this book.
I work with the lowest performing children in the Los Angeles School District and am always searching for tools to help these children and their parents. I know they need a safe, calm, peaceful environment to help them understand the pain, grief, loss and trauma that so many experience to have a more successful and thriving emotional and academic life. So many of these children experience ADD/ADHD like symptoms as well as being so angry and acting out at home and in the classroom. I strive to bring activities and games to heighten or stimulate their imagination and to give them as many stress-free and calming moments. This book is a veritable plethora of amazing interventions that are so needed for these children and their parents. It is like I thought to myself everything I have been thinking and dreaming about that would help these kids....and Dr. Reznick put it all into words that are so reader-friendly! Brava Charlotte...Just what I needed to start my school year!
I will share it with all my colleagues and friends,
