It stopped working on January, 16 2023.
These are my farewell words.
It covers three properties: loudness, temperature, performance.
1) Loudness
During the high load the fans were distinctive. It became obvious during Furmark runs or playing games (Metro: Last Light for example).
It was irritating but three factors helped me out: (a) sound dampening chassis (Fractal Design Define R6), (b) I usually listen music, (c) in games I focus on actions on the screen, not in the room where I actually sit.
However, when it was quite (no music, no sound in games) it was irritating hearing sounds from the fans.
2) Temperature
I didn't save screenshots or log. I didn't expect my experience with this videocard would end so abruptly.
However, it was not too hot.
I wanted to try a water-cooling system to decrease temps. So I purchased ID COOLING ICEFLOW 240 VGA on Amazon. Accidentally, it didn't perfectly fit to PowerColor Red Dragon 5700. So I had to rasp screws on ICEFLOW 240. And it worked good, and I was able to install the cooler.
The temperature on GPU became lower (by 5-10 degrees I think), with more or less the same noise level.
It worked like that for several months. Then I reverted back to a default cooler because the chassis became 'bulky' without a significant change in cooling or noise level. But kept the fans from ID COOLING.
3) Performance
I don't play the most recent games. Usually, I play games published ~5 years ago. For example, Metro series (2033, Last Light, Exodus), Shadow of Mordor, Doom Eternal.
Comparing to my previous card (AMD 6950) I was able to play all games on highest settings without FPS drop.
That is what I liked - I could play almost any game on highest settings without issues.
-----
Death
It accidentally stopped working. One day I played Shadow of Mordor, on the next day I could not start a computer.
The motherboard could not start when the videocard was in the PCIe slot AND it had both power supply cables (6 pin + 8 pin). When the card was in the motherboard but without the power cables (both or one) the motherboard could start but didn't recognize the videocard (GPUz detected only integrated graphics).
I tried many things:
* physically switched PowerColor card to another PCIe slot on my motherboard (Asus Z690-Plus WiFi D4)
* changed power cables
* used 100% safe HDMI cable
* changed BIOS settings on the motherboard
* switched BIOS on PowerColor 5700 to Silent \ OC
* replaced the thermal paste on GPU
* changed cooler to ID COOLING
* checked the 'golden fingers' for scratches (nothing found)
The warranty period has ended, so I contacted a local repair service. They could not recover it either.
It took me 1.5 months to check and double-check all aspects listed above.
-----
It costed me $349.99. Worked 3 years and 1 month.
PowerColor Red Dragon 5700 is worth about $115 each year. And gave me moments of joy during these years, distracted from uneasy events. Not bad for such a price.
But I was hoping it could serve 2-3 years more.

The first card had no fan spin. It crashed almost immediately during benching in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I fired up Furmark to test it and noticed it pushing 100 c, I look inside my case and the fans are not spinning. Ok, it's a dud, no big deal. Also worth noting that it shipped in nothing but the retail box, and it appeared that it had been dropped. Shout-out to Amazon for a prompt next-day replacement.
The second card worked out of the box, fans and all. However it is worth nothing that this one did not come in a mailing box either, just a shipping label slapped onto the retail box (not ok, Amazon). I loaded up all the drivers and... terrible performance. Screen tearing, stuttering, frame drops, just awful. A bit of research later and I decide to do a clean install of windows. DDU did not totally fix it, for those wondering. I do a new installation on another SSD, load up the drivers, install Shadow of the Tomb Raider and everything performs buttery smooth like a $400 card should. Yay! End of story, right? Eh not so fast... I back up my data and install a fresh copy of windows and drivers on my main SSD, and go to stress test it. Passes stress testing with flying colors. Ok, how about some good ol' fashion Minecraft... and crash. More stress testing, pass no problem. Minecraft, crash. No picture. Reboot, no picture. Reboot, now only 1 of my 3 display ports are working reliably (I run 3 1080p monitors). That does it, I'm done. Tomorrow it's going back. I am really disappointed, was really looking forward to the performance this card had to offer. Now I am just hoping this card didn't do any damage to the rest of my system.
Also if you're brave enough to buy this card, make sure to adjust the stock fan curve. Crank it up, or else it will run too hot. I don't know what on earth AMD was thinking.
EDIT: I just picked up the Msi Mech RX 5700 from a local retailer, for around the same price. No issues so far, just a little tweaking around with the settings as AMD's drivers are still a bit buggy. I reccomend checking out that card. However if you are new to PC building, skip the RX 5700 altogether and go Nvidia. It's more of a plug & play experience and you'll actually be able to enjoy your system instead of sweating blood and tears trying to get it working properly.
In picking this Video card you have PCIexpress 3.0 or PCIexpress 4.0 compatability. Granted you can't use the PCIe 4.0 bandwidth in a PCIe 3.0 motherboard, however you still can used the PCIe 4.0 video card in a PCIe 3.0 motherboard. It is backwards compatible for integration of use. Besides you can use the PCIe 4.0 card forward if you ever wanted to decide to upgrade to a newer XP570 versions of motherboard that uses the PCIe 4.0 bandwidth.

This AMD video board, it has the Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR feature. This allows FreeSync monitors to vary its refresh rate in order to match the framerate of your AMD graphics card. Once enable it creates smooth, tearing-free and low-latency gameplay on the display. This is not something I will be using since I do not have a FreeSync monitor (HDMI). NVIDIA has the same feature called G-Sync for their versions of video cards.

I returned the first card and got it replaced with another of the same model 2 days later. I received the replacement and it had exactly the same problem! At first I thought it could be the drivers, but I tried multiple versions (clean installs) and then thought it could be a hardware fault. I decided to look for another BIOS version as a last resort before returning the card again... I then found out that PowerColor themselves had uploaded an updated version to the TechPowerUp VGA BIOS Collection had uploaded a newer version dated September 2019. I downloaded it, flashed it to the card using the ATI Tool utility and now it's absolutely perfect!
The fans are now working as they should, infact so good that I don't need to bother with custom fan profiles. Temperatures in all areas are great and the fans remain nice and quiet even under full load. It's a great performing card for the price and the cooler is also excellent for a dual fan variant.
I would have given it 5 stars... But the hassle of sorting out the BIOS version has cost a star. Great card otherwise.
-Ausstatung habe.
// Fazit vorweg //
// Leistung & Lautstärke //
// Einbau //
// Umfang & Treiber //
// System-Infos //
Fractal Design R5 Gehäuse, Intel i5 9600K, zwei Monitore mit 1200p bzw. Full HD (16:10, 60Hz), Win 10.

Nice and quiet
Reliable
Thermally efficient (check GamersNexus review on YouTube too)
I bought this card because it was a little cheaper than 2060S + I have FreeSync Monitor (Paired it with RX580). I decided to upgrade my GPU because some VR games (such as BoxVR) started to have issues and stature when playing it for more than 20m and some other games can't run decently.
In 1-hour, I had 3 crashes. 2 while in game (LoL) and 1-just watching a video. I did updated my Bios (Despite the new BIOS was beta), Update drivers to latest (Tried old one 19.11.3), Windows up-to-date, Had 2 power cables instead of 1 but didn't help.
Apparently, the whole 5000 series have many issues with drivers and some people had to RMA multiple times to get a decent one. I'm returning the card and will get 2060S or 2070S when they become on sales on Amazon.
