I've almost always bought nVidia cards, but I read all of the reviews, and this AMD card performed as well as or better than it's rival nVidia card, the 660ti. I bought this card because it had a better pipeline and thus will last longer than the 660ti performance wise, and it offered more memory, a lot more. The cost was also 30.00 US more, but I think that was worth 30% more memory with a huge advantage in pipelines. This card as 3GB of memory. It's also a factory OCed version, which beats other stock 7950s handily.

What really made sense is that in computing, the AMD cards simply blow the nVidia cards away. If you're using ray-tracing or other graphic modeling programs, AMD is the only way to go. AMD's ability to compute also helps render Photoshop and other image related programs faster than nVidia cards--on average. It also destroys nVidfia cards in games that use DirectCompute, also, on average.

It's also almost dead silent even running wide open, and power consumption at idle is very low.

Summary:
(1) More information pipelines than closest competitor.
(2) More memory than closest competitor
(3) #1 & #2 mean a longer performance timeline.
(4) Drivers are so far solid, even more so than the latest nVidia, on my machine. I have had no problems with drivers.
(5) Software is very nice and has matured nicely over the years. It's as easy if not easier to use than nVidia.

Let's be honest. At today's prices there is no better value than a HD 7950 if it is within your budget. And this PowerColor card overclocks like John Force in his drag car. I paired this card with my older Sapphire 11196-02-40G Radeon HD 7950 3GB DDR5 HDMI / DVI-I / Dual Mini DP PCI-Express OC Version Graphics Card for some CrossfireX loving. I never thought this card would do 1100 core and 6300 memory, but here it is in CrossfireX hanging with it's older brother.

No complaints. No quirks. No reason to worry. Just pure unadulterated SPEED!

I bought this card to mine cryptocurrencies with and I have not been disappointed. It has an average performance compared to all the other brands of 7950's. It has been mining at full load for almost two months solid and has had 0 issues. I was unfamiliar with PowerColor before this but this has made me consider buying their product in the future.
