We have not been leaving this in the car, as we have two cars and switch between, so I'm not sure how well it would last sitting in a car for long periods of time. We've taken this on a few long trips and many short trips. It charges my phone close to as fast as a normal wall AC plug. For its price point, we didn't expect too much from it (especially compared to some others at our local retail store that were 2-3 times the price), but it has performed rather well.
As for how we use it, I would consider our usage somewhat heavy when it is being used, and then not at all for decent periods of time (we only use it when we forget to charge our phones, for long trips, or when my husband brings his laptop to keep up on work or something).
I would recommend this, it seems to not be of the best quality, but is more than good enough for most uses.
I've taken them on 4 road trips, aside from a few minor issues, these power bars worked great.
Awesome device, but the cigarette plug could use some attention. At time the device will power off, even though it is firmly plugged it.
The USB port could use an additional power rail, as the 5v is not enough for some of the newer phones, when they are also being used for GPS.
That being said, I would still recommend them and would buy another if the ones I have were to fail.
Turn your car into a mobile command center.
6 of us took a 9 hour trip to Colorado and I'd be Damned if our phones and tablets died. This kept everyone charged with blowing a fuse. Has 3 standard outlets, a USB port and a car charger outlet.
Quality is solid, Doesn't heat up and feel like a fire when on.
It turns off when I turn off my car. I think that my car though, so you may want to be sure it turns off before leaving it plugged in when you leave the car. It does have a switch to turn it off. I like to hide mine even if I'm not going to be gone long. I don't want to advertise that I have all that equipment..
The only thing I'd change is I'd give it an extra usb port. It nice that it has an extra plug for a regular car charger my cooler doesn't have a regular plug. I like that I don't have to have car chargers for every device so it saves me money on cables and I only need the one that plugs into the wall.
