Powerful is just that, a powerful story of second chances. Second chances in many areas of life for different people.
Kris leaves his small town, best friend and his family-including his girlfriend-behind to seek his career in acting. Athena, his ex goes on with her life but trouble strikes after college and she comes back to her home town. Meeting up again is monumental in more than one way and not just for the leading characters. Enough said!
Both Athena and Kris are very easy to like because of their friendly natures and honesty, with themselves as well. Kris I was worried might be the arrogant star but I was pleasantly surprised. Athena has a secret that certainly is a doozy and explains a lot about why she is like she is and my heart went out to her. Together they had such amazing chemistry, their passion nearly lit the pages on fire. 😉
The secondary characters were terrific too and really supported the story well. I would love to know Shannon’s story actually, what a live wire she is in the story. As usual there is a nice dose of mystery and I’m already looking forward to reading the next book. I absolutely love the slight crossover into another series written by this author, even if by mention alone, very clever!
Great descriptions, some light hearted humour with fun banter, a sprinkling of suspense in an absorbing and fast paced storyline, and some quality writing make this an outstanding story that I recommend to everyone.
