I own dozens of business and start-up books and wish I had this one at the beginning of my career as a retail small business owner. The amount of effort that went into the creation of this book is extremely apparent. With diverse stories, the author makes sure that each chapter will keep your attention to the very end. I always had known of these historical figures from the past and thought I knew much about them but boy was I wrong.
To be perfectly honest, I am not a history buff by any means. However the stories within this book are written in a way that takes out all of the boring details from a middle school history class and focus on the exciting elements from each story. The depth got me hooked into each story and the conclusions of several chapters related to issues I have dealt with personally in my own business. With each business lesson teaching me directly through the examples set by these real historical characters it was easy to feel a connection with the people that really lived.
My only downside for the entire book is that at times the business concepts went a little over my head. This was probably in 10 out of the 40 chapters, so not that bad and it didn't take away from the stories or the lessons hardly at all. Personally my knowledge in business and entrepreneurship is limited, otherwise I may have been able to take away 100% of the concepts the author was teaching me. With fun stories and a easy take on advanced business concepts I suggest this book to any entrepreneur or person looking for a more advanced business book.
Finally, I recommend buying the paperback, I am happy that I did. The cover is really awesome.
