4.0 out of 5 stars Good buy so far with moderate to heavy use
By JY on March 16, 2017
Just to start off, I've had the Powerline Bench for a little over 9 months now with moderate to heavy usage. It has been used at a minimum of 4 times per week by myself, wife and also friends. I am no writing this review after opening, it has been through 9 months of moderate to heavy usage.

Short Review: Must have item for any home gym, stable, durable. Good buy so far with moderate to heavy use.

Long review:

If you are looking for home gym equipment than this is the right place to be looking. People who buy home gym equipment often forget that one of the most important equipment is actually a STABLE and durable bench. In my small opinion, the Powerline bench is very stable and I have used it upwards to 400 pounds (myself with weights included) and the bench holds well. No shakyness of the frame except for the head board. There is some small wiggle room there but not to the point of annoyance. I actually chose this over a lot of the other benches due to the way it holds positions.

There is a metal framed bar that you can adjust to the 7 positions and that gave me a lot of confidence. Many other benches only had only a metal pin to hold positions, and that seemed a bit too hokey for me. I needed something solid that will not fail if I were to lift heavy. The Powerline bench offers 7 adjustable height setups which is very adequate for everyone to use. Although it does mention 7 positions, I would argue that it is only suitable for 6 positions. The decline position doesn't seem to fit in well for me, I feel as though I am falling off the bench while in decline.

The cushioning is fantastic. It isn't too soft nor too hard, just right in the middle. Stitching is also pretty good, I haven't seen anything come off and my bench still looks brand new after all these months. I've seen a lot of comments about the adhesive on some of the stickers being annoying but I did not find anything wrong with my bench.

There are a few con's to this bench if you are wondering. My biggest issue with the bench is the head board. It narrows down to much for me and I do have a wide frame. It measures 10.25 inches in width and narrows down to 8.25 inches in width towards the head. It can be annoying at times but I have gotten used to it (One star taken away for this, I would have preferred a bench that was 10.25 all the way in width). Another issue that I've found was the gap between the head board and the seat. There seems to be like a 2 inch gap there and it can annoy some people.

Pro's:
1. Very stable bench
2. 7 advertised positions (my opinion is 6 positions)
3. Good cushioning as well as stitching
4. Very stable bench
5. Did I mention that it was stable?

Con's or improvements:
1. Head boards narrows down to 8.25 inches, make them all 10.25 inches in width from bottom to top (1 star taken off for this)
2. Small gap between head board and seat

Overall this is a decent bench for anyone deciding to start their own home gyms.

If this review was helpful in anyway, a simple CLICK below for YES would help me know what else to review in the future. Thanks. --JY

5.0 out of 5 stars Great space saver for a minimalist gym in a small apt!
By TAC on August 8, 2016
I live in a small NYC apartment, and was really skeptical when my boyfriend suggested getting a bench for a "home gym". I thought we wouldn't have enough room....but then he found this bench!

Pros:
- Tiny footprint! Once you collapse it, it leans upright against a wall and takes up almost no space.
- Wheels on the bottom help a lot, makes it easy for weak, 5'2" me to push it around the apt.
- Has leg pegs for your ankles only. Subjectively speaking, it's nice not having the knee pegs in the way. Others may have differing preferences than I.
- Slim, minimal, geometric. It's just nice looking.
- Very easy and fast to adjust incline/decline. Very easy to collapse or set up.
- Came already assembled!! Just pop open the box and use it!
- Lies flat, not sure what other reviewers are talking about. Has all the angles you need.

Cons:
- Won't stay against the wall unless you have some kind of stopper, so it doesn't roll and slam on to the ground. At the moment I'm keeping a 55.2lb dumbbell infront of it, but you can get creative with your doorstopper here.
- There's a metal plane that sticks out of the bottom at the top (seat of the bench), which if your seats are facing out, would hit the wall if you lean it against the wall for storage. Or, it would lean against the floor if you put it under your bed. This could scratch up the wall or floor when stored, so we put some rubber adhesives on there as a "bumper".
- Bottom of the bench (any of the metal areas) can be sticky, especially due to ripping off the stickers. It feels kinda gross.. but I get why it's there. It'll probably go away in time.

All in all those cons are really soft cons and all fixable. I'm a beginner with strength training, and the weight of the bench is no problem for me to drag out and set up quickly. I'm a woman who is 5'2" tall, my boyfriend is 5'8". No problems with the length for our sizes, there's room to spare above our heads. Attached are 2 photos - bench folded up against the wall, and bench ready for use :)

Great product! The reason I choose this bench is it has all positions including decline which is missing in most of the products. I am 5'11'' and it fits perfectly. It folds up and easy to move.Great for home workout and would definitely recommend this product.

Awesome thing was it come pre assembled...Just remove from box and use it.
