Bought a couple of these for my fiance and family. Works great. As far as charging it seems to go pretty quick and then stops charging once the battery is fully charged.
Based on the two star review .....there is actually a way to know if it is doing what it says. When I charged my phone with the charger that came with the phone, my phone will always light up the screen once I pull it off the charger. However with the powerslayer this is not the case. The reason is there is no connection being severed because the charging is no longer taking place, thus there is no live connection to undo.
Great product, great design and very energy efficient. Can't wait until they make these for laptops.

These chargers are exceptional! I just used them on a long trip and they worked flawlessly. They charged two iPhones (5s and 6 plus) and two iPads (3rd gen and Air 2). They would stop charging when the devices had reached a full charge and let me know by the charging light going out, which was very convenient. They were compact and easy to pack and carry, and the offset USB connector gave me room below the charger as well. I'm very satisfied with these chargers.

I don't know if I have a defective one or not but mine stopped working about a month ago. That means that I only had for two months before it stopped working. It will randomly light up red like its charging something when nothing is plugged in it (which defeats the purpose of the product). It won't charge when you plug your items in all the time. It lights up green when the item isn't through charging. So I don't know if I have defective one or if it's the product itself.

I had been searching for a charger like this for sometime...one that would not overheat my phone since I leave it plugged in a lot and use it as a mobile hotspot. Not only has it not overheated since I bought the Powerslayer, it works even better. The ability the powerslayer has to cut off its charge and then come back on later to recharge the device on hand is awesome. I would recommend this product for anyone!

An article on this device caught my eye a few months back. Yes, another wall powered USB charger. But it does have some distinguishing smarts. I like that it can check out the device that it's charging and determine the maximum safe output current level. I also like that at the end of the charging cycle, the indicator LED goes out and ends the charge. If you leave the device plugged in long enough, the charger will occasionally top off the device and then turn back off. Nice feature. Only wish that it were capable of a bit more sustained charging current. I believe that it maxes out at 10 watts. I wish that it would go to 12 as there are some popular devices out there that will accept 12 watts for charging. The recent drop in price brought it from a novelty item to something I wanted to buy and put to immediate use. Very happy with this charger.

The concept is great, but I'm not sure mine is working correctly. It claims to charge as fast or faster than the device's charger, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me. Also I read online that the red light comes on when charger is in use, and a green light comes on when the device is charged. The light on mine has only shown red.

I plug in my iPad Air 2 and it charges when the iPad is below 90% and tops it off then shuts off. Does this automatically. I can not speak to the newer version as this is the original and I love it. Wish I could use it for other devices with higher amp draw.
