I've been to Bali 3 times and it is still hard to follow. It should have better pronounciations.
I did better with the Indonesian book, rather than this one too, as everyone speaks indonesian and you don't offend someone speaking the wrong castes.
Also, these books would be nicer if they had practical sentence examples rather than the ones they have on here, also, it would help to include example ANSWERS Too! :)

I am giving this phrasebook 5 stars because of the value. It is super cheap and super small but still manages to have all the info you would need to go to Bali. It's true that it doesn't have complete examples, grammar rules, etc. But it is not meant to be a textbook. It is a phrasebook only and in that, it is more than sufficient.

This must be the worst phrasebook I've ever opened, unfortunately I couldn't put zero stars. There's no way of looking up a simple phrase like "thank you" without going through half the book (I would have thought a few simple phrases could have been included in the dictionary at the end). As for pronunciation, hasn't the author heard about phonetics (?) instead of suggesting trying it out on native Balinese speakers - don't have many of them living around here.

I would definitely not suggest buying this book.
