UPDATE! GREAT GLOVES!!
I bought these gloves from Amazon in June 2013 and have driven the VA Chevy Tahoe, as of today 03/23/2015, 81,078 miles with these gloves! That's driving between 4 and 7 hours a day. They are a bit coffee stained and the fingertips are just beginning to wear a bit, but the stitching is still tight, the gloves are quite intact, are very comfortable, very supportive, and still fit like (forgive me) a glove!
7 more months and over 35,000 more miles and the finger tips of forefinger and middle finger right hand have finally worn through. No complaints here! They have been through it and it is time for a new set, which I am ordering as I type. In black this times. Go for it!
Update! I finally retired this set of gloves and replaced them with a new set of Hart's driving gloves in Black. The fit is perfect! The grip on the wheel is a nice balance of stick and smooth. Can you say Confidence? I had to take a detour yesterday to avoid a closed I80 due to an accident near Truckee CA. Up to Sierraville, over to Downeyville, down to Grass Valley, to Auburn, CA. After over four hours of very twisty mountain roads we made it in comfort. BTW, this saved us from about 11 hours of sitting still in traffic waiting for the wrecks to clear. The gloves provided the grip and comfort, brand new, for me to return our Veterans to the Auburn facility in time for us all to go home. The previous set lasted two years and over 115,000 miles! They have been retired to the glove box of the Tahoe. I fully expect the same from the new ones. Excellent gloves!
I am pretty thin for my height. If you are heavy, the glove will require some stretching to feel comfortable.
Note, like most other labels, even this one is made in China. Will see how well it lasts. I hope the distributor will provide good service if a problem develops -- I looked up their web site and it looks like one of the largest distributors of leather gloves.
These are not made of scrap leather, hence no pressed grain, stitching on the seams only - which by the way is baseball stitch the strongest stitching for leather there is. Usually when you order custom leather furniture it's an upgrade and an expensive one at that. The air holes, wrist strap and elastic are excellent touches that keep the fir of the gloves perfect regardless of driving conditions.
These aren't just for driving - their sleek sexy look is perfect for a night out in the cold air. These aren't thermal, lined or insulated but quality leather this close to your skin will add a bit of warmth an tons of comfort as they continue to break in. Perfect for walking, running the dogs or a night on the town you won't find gloves of this quality at twice the price - they're a steal.
You can spend hundreds for a pair of Deer skin driving gloves but why would you - when these can be yours for under forty bucks. You can't buy pair of faux or bonded leather gloves for thirty eight bucks - let alone gloves of this quality.
