The method I use is to purchase a small nylon mesh bag, fish stores sell them as media bags. Cut a hole in the bottom and top, place cocoons in it, and tie bag to a branch well-protected in a bush. Check each day, and when hatching begins, enlarge the top hole, and place a small twig through it that the mantises can climb up and out of the bag. I split the cocoons between 2 bags this year and had success with each.
Uploaded a picture of three mantises in an arborvitae bush that held one of the cocoons.
So far only one casing hatched, but even if that is the only one I'm rating this item 5 stars.
but not one of these hatched. This was a total waste of money. I figured as much because 4 eggs were very small
and one was the correct size. I guess next year I will buy from a reputable farm. I wasting my money. Awful
