I’ve used this 3 or 4 times in the week since I’ve had it. It comes beautifully seasoned. As a suggestion, cook a healthy pile of bacon in the skillet first thing. Something with plenty of seasoning, I used a black pepper smoked bacon. The chicken and sausages I cooked in my skillet tasted like some “directly-over-the-fire” cooking. I couldn’t recommend this product enough. Keep it greasy.

These are so great! They clean so easily! Cooking in them is a treat. Nothing sticks too much in them and the flavor of burgers or any food cooked in them is delicious!

If this is your first cast iron skillet, be sure to never use soap and if you clean with water you must dry it. A good way to do that is to wash it gently and then put it back on the stove with heat to dry the water. What I do after this is pour a small amount of grapeseed or olive oil into it and use a paper towel to wipe the entire inside and sides. Get as much of the oil out as you can. Helps with storage and flavor.

I never had a cast iron skillet before, but I've had fun with several recipes - potato pancakes (latkes), whiskey chicken with Pecan crust and a vegetable dish with zucchini, yellow squash, chinese eggplant, etc. Cooks nicely, cleans nicely. When I first got these pans I seasoned them even though it supposedly came preconditioned. Some reviews complained that they had problems with cooking at first. But I did 3 reps in the oven using Canola oil and they are fine. I did learn that cooking with Canola oil can be a problem indoors because the pans get hot and the oil smokes. So I bought grapeseed oil and avocado oil. I haven't tried them yet but they have some of the highest smoke points.
I have also cooked with olive oil although it wasn't long on the stove top. But it worked fine. I'm still experimenting with this. Anyway, I'd recommend these pans! A little more work after use (wash with water only and stainless steel chainmail scrubber, heat pan about 20 minutes to drive off the water, then coat with oil and let cool).

I couldn't be happier with this purchase! I wanted something durable to cook potatoes and/or veggies in, on the other side of the grill from the meat, while also getting all the smoky goodness from the smokebox infused into the food... and these cast iron skillets are PERFECT for that!!

As long as you spray with oil before each use (and coat lightly with oil in-between uses to prevent rust) it's completely non-stick. In fact, they are SO non-stick, that I could probably cook eggs on the grill with these pans! Amazing!

I don’t use any other skillet! I love these pans. I’ve never used cast iron before and these a pretty versatile and easy to use. They are easy to clean but make sure you do that when the pan is still a little warm (if possible). If not just do it the same day. If something is a little tough to come off, I ADs some water, put it back in the stove, heat just a little (not a lot or you’ll burn yourself), and clean it off with running warm water.
