Lane Sebring is a pastor, speaker, and the creator of PreachingDonkey.com, a site dedicated to helping preachers communicate better. His articles have been featured by SermonCentral.com, ChurchLeaders.com, and Pastors.com. Lane has a B.A. in Communication and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry. He lives in the Northern Virginia / DC area with his wife, Rachel, and their two daughters.
Pastor Sebring has done well to craft a treatment of this most essential aspect of ministry that is as candid, realistic, and practically applicable as it is profoundly insightful. He masterfully underscores and addresses the vital notions that attach to preaching that is optimized in terms of its intended effect to inspire and engage the hearer, both believer and skeptic, and then lays out a plan that is as straightforward as it is adaptable for use by pastors, teachers and communicators regardless of where they are situated along the experiential and positional continuum. The book is eminently readable in regard to style and overall structure as well as offering refreshing perspectives on the challenges commensurate with reaching a generation that, as Ravi Zacharias correctly characterizes, listens with their eyes and thinks with their feelings. This book is a worthy addition to the library of anyone determined to continue refining and improving upon his or her approach to the all-so-important, complex and challenging task of conveying the truths of Scripture in a manner that is linked to the heart and life of the hearer. Well done, Pastor Sebring!
Ok so as a pastor and communicator (although I dont care to be labeled that I have read so much and I continue to read and learn and grow in what God has called me and if your a pastor you to do as well which is to throw our whole life into what we do therefore it just makes sense to study how to be better which will always be a life long journey and pursuit. With all that said I honestly thought I would write a book that combined the best of everything from the best ,as like Ed young said we eat the fish and spit out the bones this book has taken all the fish the meat the best of what we have and has brought it to us on a silver platter. Very well written simple to get and well applied. Seriously there is a reason as I write this review the book is rocking a solid five ⭐️ reviews. Well done

As one who has been preaching for over 20 years I know how important it is to craft effective sermons. Preachers don't need textbooks. They need simple practical books they can apply immediately to their preaching ministry. "Preaching Killer Sermons" fits that description perfectly. Read it and become a better preacher.
I really enjoyed this book because it was an easy read. I know that I can use the suggestions in this book to propel good preaching to great preaching. As a preacher, we have a responsibility to continue to grow in our craft. This book will help you see some of your own blind spots and help to make your sermons more effective and transformational. Make sure that you take notes as you read and share these truths with others.
If your looking for a book on how to sermonize this is not it. However if hour looking for a book to help you discover clarity and improve deliver this is the book. My communication style has improved so much just by implementing some of the points. Creating tension, asking and answering questions, developing a big idea, and packing more focus into a smaller window will magnify your preaching impact. Great book!!!
Lane has found a unique way to help preachers, well...preach! He takes you thru not just sermon preparation, which he does ver well, but he also helps in preparing the preacher.
