THis is a full size, 46"-not 43, as stated- and 34" scale, 20 fret bass with a nice rosewood fingerboard and a good, fast maple neck.
It is a fair copy of a Fender Precision bass, but the neck is a little narrower and thinner and very comfortable. It is far lighter due to the basswood body.
It has a few slightly high frets up near the body, but nothing terrible, and I will be able to get them leveled when I put better strings on it.
Needed string height adjustment at the bridge and minor truss rod adjustment, but so has every other guitar I have ever bought.
Hardware is very good-tuners hold tune and bridge and controls work fine, and overall the quality of the wood and paint is very good, better than on some "big name" instruments I have owned.
I started playing bass in 1963. This is not the best I ever had, but it is as good as basses I have seen for 3 times the money, and I will have no problem gigging with it after new strings and very minor adjustments.
Got here very quickly and is a very good playing and good sounding instrument that seems solid and is a great deal!
The extras that come with it (case, strings, book) are all just icing on the already delicious cake.
the one problem (not the guitar company or even amazons fault). Fedex left the package outside in an unusual place near the back of the house because nobody was home. We got the delivery notification and thought someone had stolen it from the porch. by the time we found it in the back yard, it had been rained on. Luckily it was very well packaged and everything inside the box was also in a plastic bag. Go amazon!
The Bass is beautiful and has a nice finish, there is a spot on the body where it looks kinda dull but I'm ok with that.
The Factory setup was ok but I ended up doing my own setup anyways, I lowered the string action and adjusted the pickup height, I also dialed in the intonation. it was my first time setting up a Bass guitar and honestly it wasn't that hard, I just watched a couple youtube videos and did a couple online searches and found the right specs.
I think this Bass sounds just as good as some $300+ Basses I've tried before.
Would I recommend this Bass? ABSOLUTELY!
After a few days using the bass I noticed that one of the pickups was extremely noisy so I ended up returning the bass.
Amazon was amazing as usual and issued a refund right away.
I probably just got a bad one because I haven't read many reviews complaining of noisy pickups so I would still give this bass a try.
The body has a cool design, the neck and body feel great for the most part. It's really light, which makes it easy to carry around and move on stage for showmanship (if that's your style). I personally love that the name is Huntington Outlaw P-Bass (which can be abbreviated to HOP Bass). Really, if you want a bass that will cover all that needs to be covered with a bass, you're pretty much golden with this one.
The only things that I will say work against this one are that my volume knob, rather than gradually increase and decrease volume as it's being turned, will instead just turn on and off. Any volume in between is very hard to access. I also played in a show once where the bass actually had to crescendo while playing the note, and the volume knob actually caused static in the sound system while I was changing the volume and playing the note at the same time. The other knob works just fine, so it almost makes me wonder why there was an issue with one and not the other, but it is what it is.
I also hear a buzz when playing the E string, but the buzz doesn't go through to the amp, so I guess that's not too much of an issue.
All in all, it's a great bass for a beginner, and I bet you could get going professionally with this, too. I'm not going to say it's as good as a Fender, but you could probably get 3 of these for the price of one Fender.

Right in the items head line, and purchasing options it specifically says"+amp" "With 10 Watt amp". This is absolutely false. There is no amp at all. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Ryan Lee Cullinan
