As for the movie I only wanted to know more about the Predator species and I got quite a bit. I was very satisfied with that aspect. I did find it strange that the predator species is just waiting for humanity to destroy itself when they can just get rid of us at will. The action sequences are vastly superior to any of the movies that came before and I am looking forward to playing this movie on my surround sound system. Ok. I'm done...
This film has a more humorous bent than the previous one. I really did like Predators, but I prefer the tone of this film. It matches more of the over-the-top feel of the original and 2. They do add a few more jokes than those two, and a little too many of them have a frat bro/trying-to-be alpha dog mentality that can be a little exhausting. Still overall, it's pretty funny.
There are some really impressive and violent fights. Current film technology is utilized to have the Predators do things they couldn't in previous films.
The cast is all-around likable. Heck, I think this is the first time I found Olivia Munn fully utilized in a film.
Admittedly, the pacing can be a little uneven at moments. There are points where the back-and-forth between characters could've been shorter and the scenes are rushed, including a death of a main character that's hit-and-miss. Also, the final scene setting up the sequel feels tacked-on and inorganic.
Listen, if you're not interested in a humorous Predator film than this won't be for you. Personally, I went to be mindlessly entertained, and I was.

Yes it’s clearly not a remake of Predator 1 & 2, it’s a continuation and a more modern addition to the Predator story.
I have seen them all and this is by far my favourite, yes I even preferred this over the Arnie one.
My daughter, who had never seen the first ones, loved this too.
It was well acted, great script, bigger and badder predators, the predator dogs were brilliant, great humour, what’s not to like?!
(Personally loved the idea of the Aspergers kid being more evolved, as someone with two kids on the spectrum this was a great addition and rarely seen in movies)
10/10 for me :)
This is a reboot too far though, and has plot holes you could drive a bus through although I do not want to give any spoilers so cannot (will not) go into too many details.
All I can say right now is that all of a sudden Predator has gone all PC, and they are only here because of climate change rendering the planet "unsuitable for human life" in one or two generations and they need our DNA in order to "upgrade" themselves as if they were Cybermen from Dr. Who!! And then it gets sillier.......so for everyone who thought AVP2 was a bit silly, you ain't seen nuthin' yet.
(below) was indeed a little unkind, though without doubt the 'Arnie' film was far and away the best, this
the forth is better than the second and equal of the third.
Being a fairly recent offering the upgrade to 4k is as one would hope for..

The story tells of how after a alien-craft crash lands it''s occupant is disabled by McKenna after several of his
team had been killed by it is then taken to a lab for investigation.
Somewhile later while on a bus in the military facility the killing machine/predator is seen by McKenna and
a group of military prisoners escaping with biologist Casey in vain pursuit......with the alien on the loose with
it's murderous intent it will fall upon the group of misfits to try and stop the creature.
Meanwhile Rory, Mckenna's young son had opened a parcel his father had sent home to himself containing
high-tech belongings of the alien he'd disabled.....inadvertently the youngster triggers a signal which is
picked-up in far-off space by another member the alien species........the creature which is even bigger and
more powerful is on it's way..........can the group of misfits led by McKenna along with Casey prevent disastrous
Have to say, there have indeed been a few spin-offs, mostly watchable to the 1987 'Arnie' classic and indeed
Danny Glover's 1990 follow-up.......sadly this, for me is far and away the worst.
Though there are some good visual sequences, have to say in my view, the script, muddled story-line and
indeed in the main the under-par acting make this very difficult to sit through..............wish i'd not bought it
....give it a miss.
