It must have been very hard to make so many guesses and have all of them be wrong. One would think even by flipping a coin he would have gotten some things right: just based on the laws of averages, a few of his guesses should have been right----it's as if he worked very hard to write guesses that could not be correct. No guesses about President Obama were correct; no guesses about the USA economy were correct; no guesses about domestic terrorists were correct. Most of the guesses were so vague that they cannot be said to have happened or not happened; the guesses that are not vague were all wrong.

Hint to the writer: next time, toss a coin: you'll get much more guesses correct.

I have the donor edition of this book which has one extra chapter at the end but otherwise is identical to this one and it was so interesting I pretty much just took the day off on Sunday and read it through all at once. I plan to go back and re-read it because there is so much in there that it simply isn't possible to absorb it all at once.

John makes a good case that both astrologically and via his "Oracle" that 2014 will be a difficult but pivotal year; a time much like 1914 in terms of the way economics and Current Events are playing out. But of course history doesn't exactly repeats but it does rhyme and John provides a great preview of the powerful Sagas he see's likely to unfold, as always he provides choices in hopes the world will pick the better future rather than the more difficult one.

He feels time is running short to pick that more productive future, though he provides a road map the world could follow and more importantly what the individual can do no matter what happens.

Another great work from John Hogue - well worth the price - make time to read this one!

Author John Hogue - Always articulate and interesting covering topics that continue to be real page turners. His prediction of how the U.S. will continue its downward slide from a leadership role in the world and slowly and surely be supplanted by other more dynamic economies like Brazil, China and others is prescient, and echoed by growing numbers of researchers and scholars. This 'slide' also includes the U.S. greenback being replaced as the world's reserve currency. Hard to accept for many. But quite predictable too when you consider that British Sterling was once the world's reserve currency for 200 yrs.

Hogue is nothing if not prescient. Much to be considered and desperate world change averted if his warnings were heeded. If only he were not so wordy. Much effort is required just to sift through the density of material to access his points. Vamos a ver.

One of the most thought provoking books I've read in years. I find his analysis of our current government to be uncannily accurate. Our leaders are floundering and lack the skills necessary to lead us out of our current economic slump. Unfortunately our last election lacked any candidate(s) with the experience to run a nation already in trouble. Two presidents later it's still the economy! This country is failing miserably as a world power and keeper of the peace. There are far too many things to be fixed at home to be wasting our dwindling resources on the problems of foreign countries that by their very core belief system(s) will never be more than a thorn in the side to the so called free world.

It's always fun to read books of prophecies after the fact to see how they did. In the case of Hogue, it's a little hard to pin him down because of his claims that things "might" happen or that there's a "chance". He was, however, incautious enough to make specific predictions about the midterm elections: the Democrats will pick up several seats in both houses, possibly enough to gain control of the House and a supermajority in the Senate. Tea Party Republicans will be so upset that they will depose Boehner in favor of Eric Kantor [sic]. It's hard to image more wrong predictions combined into one. Back to the drawing boards and the "Uranus-Pluto square."

he has some interesting things to write about here, and a pretty solid history of accuracy however he gets there. a little heavy on the "astro-babble" as i call it. i really don't get all the astronomical references, but if that's your thing there's plenty of "documentation" there for you to understand how he gets where he is. i like the descriptions of nostradamus, because i actually have no hope of getting my head around how he wrote stuff.

he presents himself as middle of the road politically, but he really isn't. often takes the opportunity to bash conservatives, even when he agrees with them. i suppose it's hard to write such a piece without wandering into ones own biases from time to time, but i just wish he would admit to the bias. i tend to be libertarian in my views, so i'm often in agreement with the ill conceived motives our government often has.

Ok... Not a real blockbuster... But it has it's moments. Not a meh... But not a wow either.
The book seems forced and a bit braggy. When J.H. Is predicting... It's good. When he's tooting his own horn ... It's not.
