About the Author
Françoise Barbira Freedman is a medical anthropologist and yoga teacher, as well as a frequent lecturer on midwifery and women's health. Her pioneering interest in pregnancy and childbirth stems from her early anthropological studies in the Amazon. She has written a number of books on prenatal yoga, and is the founder of Birthlight, a charitable trust dedicated to promoting a sensitive approach to pregnancy, birth, and babies. She has four children.

This book will be the one I recommend to my students because it's simple, safe, and well-illustrated without being too Eastern in it's approach. It will suit the average American reader, while still staying true to the heart of yoga.
