Works great. The key is to put the top screw while grinding. I usually grind 1(urud):4(rice) separately, and each gets done in less than 10 mins each. It looks like it can even grind more than this, though I have not tried more than 4 cups. My kids get to eat Idli/dosas everyday. Cleaning is super easy and much better the ulta I owned for 8 years.I am so glad I chose this over the other brands.. I highly recommend this product.

Hi all,
I was using mixie all these years in US to make my batter for idle, dosa and vada. But wasn’t satisfied with the outcome of the batter as it used to be like thick paste, sometimes not ground well and the batter is heated up resulting in poor and hard idles, vadas, or dosas . I decided to buy a wet grinder as many have said that the batter comes out well in wet grinder and fluffy, fully ground and above all we get much more in the quantity of batter. I bought S.S. premier wet grinder 1.5 lt 10 days back firstly after seeing the good reviews, next the compact size and thirdly for its light weightedness, in comparison to other models. I also liked the part where it fits in my kitchen sink and can be cleaned nicely without any hassles. The price was worth it and it makes wonderful batter serving the purspose. Now my idles, dosas, vada and punugulu are divine in taste. My kids loved the idle, dosas and vadas so much ! The batter was very soft and fluffy just like like home made whisked butter and was feeling so good to hold while in hands especially for vadas. Overall it serves well and I could not ask for more. This wet grinder is very good for a family of 4-5 members and the batter can be used minimum 2-3 times depending on the dish you prepare at home. If you are in a lookout for wet grinders, then S.S. premier wetgrinder it is!!!

The size is good for a small family. It works good.
Easy to clean. I owned Ulta before. The closing hook in Ulta is an issue.
If the top hook in Ulta that holds the stone , breaks for any reason then the whole wet grinder need
to be discarded. The plastic knob is also attached to the wet grinder in Ulta. So if the grinder get hit
by accident the little hook is the first thing to break, which happened to my ULTA.
Other than that Ulta is also stable wet grinder.
Ulta worked good for about 8 yrs until the closing knob broke. I decided on Premier this time to avoid the knob issue.
The delivery was also good. I received it on time when I requested SSPremier
for a quick delivery.

Don't use this machine to grind nuts!

Recently, I found out that I'm allergic to peanuts, almonds, and cashews--what is mostly available commercially. Nut butters are a staple of my diet, and for that reason, I decided to buy a nut grinder so I could have other nut butters. The grinders you see in the supermarkets are extremely expensive--about $ 2700, so I googled "nut grinders" and this machine came up on Amazon. I read the reviews on this grinder and saw that a couple of reviews said that it grinds nuts.
Unfortunately, I was in the midst of a move and was unpacking my belongings, so I didn't have time to futz with the new machine. By the time I set it up, I realized that it was missing the lid. Also the instructions said nothing whatsoever about grinding nuts. I called customer service, and they explained that the lid was embedded in the packing material and that someone else would have to contact me regarding how to grind nuts. Finally a week later, I found out from the other service rep that you first have to put the nuts through a food processor before you can put them in the Premier grinder. Not wanting to invest a fortune in this project, I found a used Sunbeam Vista food processor and commenced the nut grinding process.
I was delighted to find that my Sunbeam Vista food processor does a beautiful job of making nut butters, all by itself. For some drier nuts I add a tablespoon of walnut oil. I have no need for the premier grinder. Because it was over a month until I completed my project, I can't return the Premier Grinder. Now I have a brand new $200 grinder sitting on my counter, and absolutely no use for it.
If it's nuts you want to grind, then my advice is to get a Sunbeam Vista food processor. It does a beautiful job!
Save your money. You don't need the Premier Grinder.

I've been using this wet grinder (Premier Small Wonder Table Top Wet Grinder 1.5 Liter) since more than two years now. I can just put in the contents to grind and forget about it for 10-15 minutes until the batter is ready. It's sound is low and grinding function is served well. It is heavy which is natural for any stone grinder. But it's easy to clean too - has few parts and there are no sharp parts. I make batter for idli, dosa and moong dosa (pesarattu) with this.

The premier customer service found the problem we were having the top lock was missing the spring. They immediately shipped the replacement top lock and we received it yesterday. Premier customer service called to check on the issue. They asked us to go through the motion of soaking the rice and do the grinding and send the video record of the same. Planning to do that today. Will update the follow up soon.

Used it for a year. After that, the machine stopped griding grains (including rice) very coarse. Even after hours of running. Not worth buying it.

I've been using my grinder for months now. I've made perfect chocolate several times, nut butters and coconut butter. Coconut butter I make about 1-1.5kgs at least every two weeks. As happy as can be.
Edit:
The centre post of my unit had a mark on when I got it, but I didn't think anything of it. That mark turned out to be a crack that recently got a lot worse. It still worked fine though. I contacted PGP and I had no hassle once I showed them the problem. They promptly sent out a new bowl. I'm very happy with this company and will not hesitate buying from them again. Thanks PGP.
