Edit: The company sent new hay and even thick gardening gloves to protect from the thorns. Two stars added for the better hay and quality customer service. Thanks guys!
There are tons of sticks. The few leaves that are left are wilted and falling off. This stuff looks like kindling, not animal food. I'm pretty upset they actually mailed something this far gone out to a consumer.
Extremely dissatisfied. Returning and will not buy from Thunder Acres again.
I've included photos to show just how discolored and disgusting this stuff looks. It seems to be 80-90% sticks.
The green alfalfa you're seeing used as a comparison in the other photos is "Oxbow Animal Health Alfalfa Hay". I bought it at the beginning of January. It's 2 months old and still looks like rabbit food. Well earned plug for them being it's what I ordered before this excuse for alfalfa and it's what I'm going back to.
I don't know what scam Thunder Acres is running, but if this inedible crap is their idea of "premium", the low-grade stuff is probably toxic.
Please go with another brand so you don't have to waste your time shipping this stuff back like I'm having to do.

Edit: I received an email from this company the next day. I've included a copy of it below. In short, they want to try and "buy" a better rating by sending me a free bag of alfalfa to try. I'm sure it's some of the greenest, freshest alfalfa they have. It's probably from the last batch cut and I bet it's going to be amazing. And it's what should have been sent instead of this brown, dead stuff in the first place!
I will be sending it back immediately because both myself and Christina P. have had this exact same thing happen.

* Get hay that had no business EVER being shipped out because it's dead
* Get an email about receiving a FREE BAG!
(It's not free yet. I paid for that last batch, mailed it back, don't have the new hay and don't have a refund.)
