Shipping was a bit of a joke though. They arrived just fine, but the "box" they put them in clearly had a rough journey, haha.
They arrived as a pair in one box and in fine condition. If you plan on using these indoors, know that there is a definite odor/smell to these that will take over your living space. I had them resting in my upstairs gym for a few days while I was having some work done in my garage and even with the gym door closed and windows open, I could smell them in my bedroom. I'm sure they would air out eventually but I'm not sure I'd have the stomach to wait it out. Perhaps wiping them down/washing them would help expedite the process (I didn't bother since they were going out in my garage anyways) but I would hesitate to recommend these to anyone who might intend to use them indoors, unless they have a very large and open, or well ventilated space.
These don't buckle or fold over on themselves when dropped as some less expensive bumper plates can. I feel as though these are very good quality plates for the price. Very happy with this purchase :)
These were the best bargain bumper plates I could find. I was tired of destroying my garage floor with iron plates so I bought these to act as a buffer. They're slightly larger in diameter and much wider than a standard plate and absorb the impact well without bouncing too much. I bought two plates and weighed them both, each one was within .3lbs of the advertised weight. They slide on and off fairly smooth. They did have a strong smell when I took them out of the package but that went away within a week (they're giant chunks of rubber, it should be expected). No complaints, the only question is how long these will hold up.
Edit: Over one month in and they still smell a little. Better, but the smell is still there. It is nasty. Bumping the rating down to a three. I expect in another month they won't smell. There's got to be something wrong with the manufacturing process that produces such a horrid smell that lasts so long.
The only issue with these is that they give off a powerful rubber smell when you first unbox them, and for about a week after, whatever room you keep them in is going to smell of rubber. I can't knock the product for that though, its just the nature of the material.
They work great on my Rogue bar.
