Broke two times...but still a quality product.

I really love this mixing glass and wish i could give it 5 stars. But, it broke pretty easily after trying to put a block of ice in it the first time, which I take responsibility for. So, I ordered another second one. After putting it in the dish washer (with nothing else next to it) it came out cracked in 4 places. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. As much as i want to order this for the third time I simply can't. So i went with another brand. Hopefully the third time around with a different mixing glass is a charm. Maybe I just had bad luck.

I'm updating this review (9.24.18). I ordered another mixing glass from a different company but the quality was simply not as good. I will chalk my experiences with the two previous glasses as anomalies and stick with this. Full disclosure to readers: I did receive a replacement glass from the company, but in no way, was I encouraged or even asked to update my review. I am doing this voluntarily because as I stated in my original review, I really love this mixing glass because of the quality and design.

So I normally wait to write reviews on products until I’ve put them through plenty of use. I bought this one in 2017 and use it almost every day. I wouldn’t say that I’m necessarily gentle with it, but I’ve never dropped it so I’m not sure how it would hold up then. But this bad boy has taken some hard abuse. If this were you’re girlfriend, she would have called the cops on you for beating her, but you wouldn’t have been arrested because she doesn’t show any signs of scratches or bruising. No cracks, no nothing. If/when I finally break it, I’m coming back here for another. Nothing that I touch that’s made out of glass lasts as long as this. Definitely the best bar purchase I’ve made

Like any civilized homo sapiens I take my martini stirred, not shaken (yes, you read that right), so there is no need for one of those barbaric metal shakers.
The glass is thick and heavy and really makes a great addition to the bar. After all, a good cocktail is more than a drink-- it's an experience. Who's with me?

Elegant, Solid and a Great Value

I really like this mixing glass. It looks elegant, it is very solid and I expect it will hold up well over time. Great value for the price.

A standard cocktail strainer will work just fine with this glass, but I ordered a bent-handled mint-julep strainer (see the video review) and it pairs terrifically with this mixing glass and is actually easier to use than the traditional strainer in my opinion.

I highly recommend this mixing glass!

Poorly Cut Pattern on a Fragile Glass

My first impression upon opening the box was that the glass was thick and heavy, but the pattern cut in to the glass left a lot to be desired. It was poorly cut and uneven, so I wouldn't recommend this glass for the aesthetic. Performance, however, was good. Mixing and pouring was easy and the glass did a good job insulating to help keep the cocktail chilled.

Unfortunately, after it's first use, it feel over in the sink and shattered. So despite the glass being thick and feeling robust, it proved to be relatively delicate. I give it 3 stars because, while it performs its intended purpose well, it's easy to break and the pattern does not look quality. I plan to order a different glass to replace this. I also planned to post a picture of the poorly cut design, but it shattered before I got the chance to do so.

EDIT: Manufacturer sent me a replacement, free of charge. Replacement glass was much better quality and has continued to perform well for me. Revised rating to 4 stars.

Can make 4 smallish Vodka martinis loaded with ice to go with our Lox & Bagels on Sunday morning! The container is easy to handle as it is not too tall or wide. It is thick glass & nicely decorated. I have clunked it on the edge of the sink while rinsing & thought it was going to be chipped or cracked, but NOPE...solid. I get asked about it all the time when our friends see it, mostly because of its unusual size. Have seen many large ones, but for 2 people this is perfect! Love it so much, can you tell?

Very heavy base, perfect for stirring drinks. The size is good for mixing one or two drinks at a time, I use about 3-5 1" square ice cubes when mixing and there's plenty of room with no worries about it wobbling or moving around. The pour spout works well too, and a standard Hawthorne and julep strainer fits perfectly snug in the top of it. It looks and feels like it costs a lot more than it actually does

So far so good. Reading reviews from people who received their mixing glasses broken, I decided to take extra precaution and pulled it out from it's package ever so tenderly. Defying my intentions the deceitful glassware sneaked away from my grasp and fell into the table, free falling for about 8 inches the vase hit my solid walnut table with a cocky high pitched glass tone showing off its rigid constitution. No chips, no dents, no cracks. 10/10 would buy again.
