Since 1906 the Miller family has been farming in central North Dakota. Through the years there has been a lot of change but one thing that hasn’t, our passion to grow flax seed. This little miracle seed has grown in popularity because all of its marvelous health benefits. We saw its popularity surge and continue to grow, so in 2001 we started Premium Gold Flax Products. At Premium Gold Flax Products we know flax seed because we’re the farmer and have been doing it for over 100 years. We have fine-tuned our craft and want to offer you the best tasting flax direct from the farmer.

We Control The Process

In order to give you the best tasting flax we select only golden omega flax seeds. We choose this heritage seed because of its smooth nutty taste that doesn't leave a bitter aftertaste. Our golden omega seeds are not genetically engineered and have an abundance of Omega-3 fatty acids. We take the hand selected seeds and carefully plant in the perfect climate, North Dakota. Over the next 5 months we nurture our plants and let them grow naturally without using any pesticides. When fall comes we harvest our flax and only choose the best of our crop to package.

Rest Assured You're Buying The Best!

We developed a proprietary process called True Cold Milled, or TCM for short, which grinds the flax and naturally extends the shelf life. Our ground/ milled flax seed products have a shelf life of 24 months after opening and doesn't require refrigeration. There is no other company that has this process.

Our whole flaxseed has a shelf life of 4 years after opening and doesn't require refrigeration. We suggest you grind what you need and place any remaining ground flax in the refrigerator. In the refrigerator the ground whole seed will stay good for up to 7 days.

Coupled this with Walden Farms Pancake Syrup, it makes for delicious pancakes.

It turned out so good, here's my made-from-scratch recipe:
1 egg, 4oz almond flour, 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed, 1/4th tablespoon Hershey's cocoa powder, 2oz water, 1 tablespoon erythritol , 1/2 tablespoon shredded coconut, pinch baking powder, half a drop imitation rum. Mix it all together with a whisk in a bowl, then pour some into a hot pan and make some pancakes!

This recipe made 4 relatively small pancakes. If you're cooking for 2 people, just double it and you can make some larger pancakes.

This is the second time we've bought this Premium Gold brand after switching from Bob's Red Mill. We really like the flax seed for putting in everything--on cereal, in smoothies, and always in breads or other baked goods. It adds a nice nutty flavor, extra fiber and hard-to-get omega 3 fatty acids (say "fatty acid" at your next cocktail party!).
I'm really impressed with the quality of the bag--we don't have to transfer it to another container, which is time-saver. The whole family enjoys or at least gotten used to the flavor, so this magic little bag is a very handy wait to add nutrition to our day without much fuss.
Note: this is GROUND flax seed, which is what you want for nutrition. Your body doesn't digest the whole seeds very well, even if they do look nice sprinkled on top of your bread. Ground flax seeds go bad a lot faster than the whole seeds, so if you can't use up the ground stuff very quickly, buy the whole seeds and grind as needed.

The product package contains the seed meal, as well as many strands of something that resemble fibrous string, which I have to pull out one by one. Won’t purchase this product again.

I should have read the product description more carefully because I never buy pre-ground flax seeds. No matter what anyone says, the quality of flax seeds begin to deteriorate after grinding removes the protective outside shell; they should be ground right before using/eating. Also, this bag is huge, and I keep it in my refrigerator because it's going to take quite some time to use it all, and refrigeration will prolong the benefits. Seems like a very good/excellent product, but I'm disappointed that I overlooked the word "Ground" in the product description. Yes, it's in the (very long) title, but It certainly was not emphasized in the description.
