Nearly perfect rugged phone holster

I have a similar holster to this one for my Samsung Galaxy Note 5. When I upgraded to the Galaxy S9+ I found this that seems to have solved all the problems I had with the other one. My previous one used a velcro closure that quickly wore out, but worse, when the flap is open to pull out the phone, the hook side of the velcro rakes your hand something aweful unless you develop the muscle memory to keep it from doing so. The clasp is a better solution. A strong magnet would probably be better but I don't mind the clasp. There are two other improvements that might seem minor unless you've worn one like this for a significant amount of time. It rides a little higher than the other one, just high enough that it catches much less often on chair arms when you sit down. It just moves with your body a little better in that position as well. The snap closures on this one are also more solid and snap higher up so they're not constantly catching and coming undone. If they made one like this with a magnet closure I'd probably buy another one. I'm very pleased with this holster. It solves all the small problems with my previous one and it's about the same price.

I bought two pouches that looked almost identical on Amazon. This one was a thinner, cheaper material, and the stitching was not as good. Exactly one month after I received this, while sitting in my van, the seatbelt pushed up against the buckle on the pouch and it broke to pieces. Spend a little more and get the next better pouch. You'll be happy you did.

I have a iPhone 7 plus with a life proof case and it fits perfect. It fits pretty snug but loose enough for you to put the phone in and out easily. The pouch is very well made. Looks very good. The clip is very sturdy and has a twist lock so it won't come off on you. My phone is a little big inside my pocket. I work as a hvac technician and i work in all kinds of position in the attic or basement so when my phone is in my pocket it's sometime gets uncomfortable. Clip this pouch on to the belt and put my phone in. It also has a Molle strap that can be used on back packs or tacticsl vest. Also can be use as a belt loop.
No more big phone in my pocket. No more looking more my phone buried under attic insulation. No more crawling back to the tight basement where my phone had fallen out.
I will definitely buy another one but I don't think it's going to be anytime soon because this one will last a long time.

I love this phone holster for my iPhone 7 Plus. I have a slim case on my phone, and the phone slips in and out nicely, but without much slack. The fit is right.
Next I'd like to mention the versatility of mounting options. With the heavy duty ( and I mean that these metal snaps do not come undone easily) snaps, the various loops to tuck the traps in, the D-Ring on top, and the adjustable strap and fastener for the flap cover, you can mount this pouch in just about any configuration you can think of.
I bought this pouch because I work in construction, and I am a Boy Scout leader. with the variety of activities that I get into, I needed something that I felt was secure and WOULD NOT LET MY PHONE COME OUT... even if I was hanging upside down in a tree!
It feels good, looks good, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a secure way to keep their phone on their side.

I got this as an attachment for my backpack so that I would have easy access to my iPhone 7+ while out hiking or traipsing around town. It is perfect! My iPhone has a slightly bulky speck candy shell case (with grips) and the phone still fits inside this case with no issues. I can easily insert and remove my phone. This might work with an even larger case (like a lifeproof case), but the fit would be tighter.

This is exactly what I was looking for at a great price.

I do not use the cover flap unless I need more security while climbing etc. for work - The velcro closure is strong but noisy so I tuck the cover flap inside most of the time. Case is strong and doesn't break like plastic "otter box" cases. Even when seatbelts catch on this they just tug and I can pull it free. very durable and allows use of a protective case on my phone and still goes in and out very easily. It is like a holster for the phone - works great

It fits my iPhone 7+ snuggly. A bit more industrial looking than I was anticipating, but since it was bought to hold my phone on my belt instead of inside a pocket when I am doing things out of doors (beyond a walkabout in a city park on a sunny day). It does not hang snug to body no matter how I tried reconfiguring the Twin snap straps. Very disappointing. Due to its minimal cost, it's not worth returning. So it's not suitable for outdoor rugged use and it's not classy enough for dress up use.

Initial thoughts.
Received 3 days ago. Seems to be sturdily made. Adjustable closure gives the ability to fit most any height phone.
iPhone X in a Defender case just barely squeezes in. Due to the materials used it will probably not improve the fit over time. This was not marketed as being able to fit this phone with this case so this is my own lookout. A smaller case on the phone would be a perfect fit.
ETA 20190804:
I now use this carrier, still with an Otterbox Defender, when I do my runs outside. It holds my phone securely and I never have to worry that it will fall.

Definitely not disatisfied with the case.
