Company must be acquiring their cashews from new and inferior sources

This was the 6th purchase of these cashews I've made during the past 6 months and it's distinctly different from the 1st 5 which were excellent. This bag contained cashews and pieces that came from different batches as the colors were very inconsistent but more importantly many had black spots on them which rendered them unappetizing and inedible.
Evidently my experience isn't unique based on the numerous 1 and 2 star reviews this product has received during the past few months,
I e-mailed Hytex this past Thursday, 4 days ago, explaining the problem and requesting a refund. Despite the fact I've been a regular customer I haven't heard from them.

My first time trying this brand. I've bought bulk cashews before. I've used cashews from this bag twice and both times there was a weird film in the water after rinsing them and they didn't taste super fresh but I'm pretty tolerant so I overlooked it.

This last time, I decided to take a closer look at my cashews and cracked open a couple of the whole pieces that had a powder on them. There were bug remnants inside!! Then I found a hair in the bag after digging deeper.

Now I have this huge bag of cashews that I'll probably just feed to the squirrels. So disappointing and gross.

I did not expect to order these on Sat and have them arrive on Sun. So there's that impressive bit but not why I gave them 5 stars. They are sweet, the freshest I have ever eaten, 99.5% whole, cream in color with no brown spots and a great size - at least the 2 handfuls I've gobbled down as I took other items from the box. I just couldn't stop! Not huge but big enough for me to see the quality and lack of GMO's. I live near 2 national chains that cater to those of us who shop organic and they would swoon if they were able to offer this quality in their bins. I'm not sure if the few negative reviews were because the reviewer wasn't used to raw cashews, got a bad batch or had other circumstances beyond control (weather, etc.) but I'll never get mine from any other source!!

I bought the whole cashews and the quality was great, I bought these pieces for lots of cooking and when I opened them they tasted rancid.. I eat nuts regularly and usually only buy from organic farms but I thought I’d try these. I’m soooo disappointed and I they don’t allow any returns ...... I would never buy again. These are a lot of nuts to throw away.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Last week I bought 3 packages to make cashew cheeses. I had to throw them away because ALL 3 packages had small white worms and what to me look liked eggs. Also, when I opened the cashews it had something that looked like webs.

I’ve been using this cashews for a few months now, and it’s the first time it happened to me. I always rinse the cashews with hot water to kill any bacteria, and I opened them to double check. So, since it was my first time having this problem, I bought again.

I received the cashews today, and guess what?
You are right! It came with small white worms walking around the bottom of the package and same web looking.

Last time buying this products.

When my cashews arrived, I ran downstairs, tore open the box and pulled them out! I expected W240 sized cashews, at least, because the description said LARGE Premium (I did not expect w180s which are very difficult to find) these are the smallest cashews I've ever seen, they seem smaller than the popular w320s, but how could that be??? Moisture content is excellent and color good, sweetness-- not very, but more creamier than when first tasted. I was, first, disappointed due to my own expectation of LARGE. If you are not a hunting connoisseur of fine cashews as I am, then you will be very satisfied with this product.

My two goffins cockatoos LOVE cashews, and I wanted to try a different brand than the usual store brand that I pick up. These cashews were exceptionally fresh and delicious, eventhough priced a little more than what I'm used to paying. I had intended them to be used as bird treats and bribes, but ended up snacking as I was treating, and ate at least half the bag myself over a few weeks. I also had company over who kept snacking out of the bag, so this did not last as long as similar quantities of the usual brand always do! These delicious cashews are definitely shareable with both bird and people friends.

Some of them are jumbo sized, some medium, some small, some broken pieces. At this price point they cost the same as the uniformly jumbo sized organic cashews at Whole Foods so, I'll stick with those. Besides that these nuts are flavorful and do not contain a lot of left over shell fragments which drives me crazy.
