Hire an EDITOR!!! Good god.. There is a spelling or grammatical error on almost EVERY PAGE!!! Totally takes you out of any involvement. You spend your time "hunting for errors". The illustrations are GARBAGE. The knowledge is good enough for people new to prepping I guess. There are many better options out there. Also.. the print is off center on the left hand pages.. the letters almost go into the crease of the binding. you have to strain to bend the book in half in order to read the end of the lines... they are shifted to the center way too far.
It wasn't work buying IMO. I will gift it to someone who is clueless.

Review
The latest book offered by M. D. Creekmore is called The Prepper's Guide to Surviving The End of the World as We Know. This useful guide quickly and easily covers the full range of essentials in stockpiling and equipment from water, food, and tools to medicine, communications and weapons.
It's a 176-page book that it is chock full of really good advice about the most important areas. A big benefit of such an accessible book is to get a quick overview of essential preparedness so you can see where you might have gaps in your own setup. No single book can cover everything in complete detail so this "primer" includes recommended reference books in each topic--all of which appear to be practical, useful books for rounding out your reference library.
Within his guidelines are a few nuggets of in-depth reviews, like his personal experience with hand grain grinders and animal traps. We were glad to see the he got water purification issue right: he first recommends filters and only reluctantly chemicals.
I would probably have done the medical section a bit differently, but at least, he does mention natural and alternative remedies and sources. Most people forget about preparing for dental problems and he mentions some good options there. His comprehensive coverage of what makes a good Bug Out Bag is worth the price of the book alone, and comes complete with pictures of the type of gear he uses to prepare for a quick exit.
This is an excellent guide for everyone. He adds a lot of practical, tactical advice to his lists which is very valuable even if you are advanced in your preparations. It is nice to "compare notes" with other experts. The book is rooted in practical advice and is quite motivating because of the concise way he cuts through the clutter of unknowns.
Highly recommended - Joel Skousen - worldaffairsbrief.com/

New and want to know what to do next or why you should get something like "______" (this)

Don't understand prepping? This book is for you.
New and want to know what to do next or why you should get something like "______" (this)? This is the book for you.
Been doing it a while and want to review what you've done and look for areas to improve? This is the book for you.
Trying to explain what you are doing to a significant other, spouse, best friend, etc.? This is the book for you.
Along with his other books, this takes things step by step, but in a subject order. Each chapter will start you out simple and then start filling in the why/how blanks. If you have read any of his other books, this one is NOT a simple rehashing of what was said before, it adds to what he has said and expands on the topic in question.
He's "been there, done that" and survived. Anyone can follow his advise without having to have a producing gold mine. This is not a "Yuppie Survival Guide" with recommendations on how to spend 100's of thousands of dollars, it is a practical guide to help anyone, regardless of your background, experience, or financial situation, follow and find useful. Then you can share what you have learned with other like-minded individuals.

A great prepper's guide especially for beginners and eerily prophetic considering the current atmosphere of the times we now live in. Realistic, practical and achievable prepping techniques with clear cut strategies. This book goes the extra mile by covering psychological aspects and how to prepare mentally for an "end of the world as we know it" scenario. Everyone with a strong survival instinct should read this book and keep it close at hand to refer back to when needed. Also makes a great gift for family and friends!

I'm not a die hard prepper by any sense of the meaning and felt that this is more of an extreme version of preparation, but I do believe in the importance of being prepared for the "what if's" in life, so I purchased this book as a resource. It does have some good, solid and common sense information. I was not impressed with the editing as there are an excessive amount of typos, which is a distraction.

Hello I love the book preppers guide. To start off I thought that into was very well thought out with very good examples of issues that are going on in the world today. The way I look at the book is not just survive but live I would love to have a homestead one day. Most of us have lost the ability to be self sufficient. This book has excellent points on what to use how to use it. Tools necessary for not only survival but everyday living. I think 100 yrs ago that the principals in the book were so common place how to make water drinkable. most people today take for granted something so simple as that. I do like that M.D. has done the research on what works best. Take the wheat grinder he's done testing on 3 different models. Found out what works best and gives honest opinions either way. The book is great written by MD who LIVES the life. a lot to learn if you enjoy this try the others 31 days till survival, dirt cheap survival retreat, and one of my favs the prepared preppers cookbook

If you can only afford one Prepper How To book, this is the one you want. Concise, practical advice on every important subject Preppers need to know. As noted in other reviews, MD Creekmore lives what he writes about. His first hand knowledge is easy to read and understand. Anyone who's read my own books knows I am passionate about this subject. I consider this book a must have.

Bought this for my son but am thinking I need to order another for me. I've been skills and preparedness for quite a while but this book is a handy reference and as I read through it I found things I need to improve and renew. It's great for those new to preparedness too. Gives enough detail to get the job done without the drinking through the fire hose effect. Small enough to keep handy and one of the better books I've read on the subject. Home run with this book Mr. Creekmore!

Great soup to nuts guide to all the right things to do to ensure making it through a major disaster. Written in plain English so anyone can understand and covers everything you need or want to know about the skills and supplies you need to have on hand during any kind of man made or natural disaster.
I highly recommend this book.

Bastante completo y práctico
Reviewed in Spain on March 18, 2016Verified Purchase

Tended to US market, but info is sometimes useful. An OK introductory book but much of content is pretty clear.
